It seems like the series just started, but we're already closing the book on Season 1 of Human Target. After many episodes of carefully revealing bits and pieces of the histories of our main characters, the season finale wraps it all up with a detailed look into the past. As far as story goes, it's the most compelling episode the series has served up yet, but it still fell a bit short in a few other areas.
The story started great, with a fast-paced, SWAT-style invasion of Chance's office, blended with scenes from the first meeting between Chance and Winston (who we learn has an unfortunate first name of Laverne). Chi McBride has been stellar throughout the series, and does some of his best work here. The intro really sets the tone for an episode that has a good mix of action, character development, and a story that really serves as the core of the mythology of the series. The boys put up a good fight in the intro, as you would expect, in a cleverly done action scene that was as humorous as it was exciting.
