The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star isn't safe from criticism, but she never thought things would go this far. Kim Kardashian was aghast upon hearing comments regarding her interracial relationship with NFL player Reggie Bush.
The two of them recently took a trip to Africa to help out with the Russell Simmons Diamond Empowerment Fund. Upon her return, she had to face several harsh remarks about her trip and was even attacked for dating the African American quarterback.
Kim Kardashian, who is of Armenian, Scottish and Dutch descent, discussed the issue with FOX411 at the Three O Bubble Vodka Launch Party in New York. "I don't understand it because I was raised to not see color," she said. "But you're still faced with it."
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians celebrity went on to say that her trip to Africa earned her remarks that told her she "didn't belong." Many thought the whole thing was simply a plea for more attention, but she maintains that it wasn't. It's pretty unbelievable how people would attack Kim Kardashian for her charity efforts. Then again, we're always faced with the unpredictable.
"All the comments were, 'How dare she go to Africa,' and it's just like, you know what, I can't believe that charity work is being judged, and I can't believe people would even comment on that and I think it's really disgusting," Kim Kardashian went on.
Despite being targeted for her actions though, the reality star admits that there's nothing more to do than pay no attention to the comments. Also, she will never let them affect her romantic relationship with her beau anyway.
"At the end of the day, you just have to brush them off, you have no choice," Kim explained.
Still, she's looking at the bright side of things. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star finished off by saying: "I hope by the time Reggie and I have kids, things will be different."
