Treme Season1, Episode 6: "Shallow Water, Oh Mama" Review

Up until now, it's been easy to place our trust in David Simon's capable hands -- sifting through literally dozens of characters and storylines, waiting patiently for pertinent plot developments and payoffs. But with only four episodes left in the first season of Treme, it's time to face a disappointing truth: there's a lot that isn't going to get addressed; many of these storylines will fail to be developed or resolved, because there isn't simply the time and the space available to resolve them. Is David Simon making a point by having his show echo real life, in that conflicts don't always resolve themselves to our satisfaction, that sometimes people simply slip in and out of our peripheral vision without serving any particular purpose, that we can't always get what we want?
