Family Guy Season 8, Episode 19: "The Splendid Source" Review

I have to admit I had high hopes for the premise of this episode. It was a great opportunity to get Peter and his friends out on a grand, irreverent adventure. But although the quest to find the source of the world's dirtiest jokes is a wonderful concept, the execution was off in some spots.

The story starts with a few weak jokes (the tied back-to-back gag just made me sigh) before Chris is suspended from school. This short-lived plot device isn't all that fun, and neither is the joke that got him in trouble in the first place (the full "vagina in the sink" joke, by the way, is readily available on the web if you do a little searching). But Peter, of course, finds the joke so hilarious that he craps himself every time he hears it. Again, I sighed. Family Guy simply cannot go an episode without injecting toilet humor. It's just sad, to the point of being pathetic. The long-running poop joke in the first part of the episode is neither creative nor amusing, and it wasted time that could have been spent on the main story.

yes because as we all know family guy strives to make non-toilet humor stories about grand adventures.
