David Goyer has been hugely successful when it comes to scripting and providing storylines for superhero movies like The Dark Knight and Blade, not to mention the upcoming Superman re-reboot. But when delving into his own original material (The Unborn) or anything of the non-cape variety (The Invisible), he hasn't been quite as fortunate... which has us wondering how his latest deal with the Bat and Supes studio Warner Bros. will pan out.
Deadline has the scoop on the arrangement, which they report is a "seven-figure preemptive bid" from the studio for Goyer to adapt the first in his science-fiction trilogy of books, which is called Heaven's Shadow. He's writing the trio of tales with Michael Cassutt, who has worked on television shows such as The Outer Limits and Eerie, Indiana.
