Grams organizes a Thanksgiving dinner and invites every character. Also, Mrs. Lindley, Jen's mother, comes to visit. Jen isn't exactly happy to see her, citing the fact that Mrs. Lindley sent her to Capeside and never contacted her. Grams urges Jen to reconcile with Mrs. Lindley.
Dawson and Gale discuss whether to keep the secret about Eve being Jen's sister a secret. Finally, Dawson confronts Mrs. Lindley and tells her he knows. She asks him not to tell Jen, but later tells Jen herself, using the fear of this secret being revealed as an excuse for sending Jen away (I know it doesn't make any sense, but that's what she says). Jen is very angry at her mother, and this anger somehow makes her want to have sex with Pacey. She finds him and tries to seduce him, but instead turns him off completely. He tries to console her. Later, when Mrs. Lindley is about to leave, she and Jen have another talk. Jen asks why Mrs. Lindley stays in a loveless marriage (another thing we are just supposed to know, even though no one has ever mentioned it), and Mrs. Lindley says she doesn't want to lose her social life. Then, Mrs. Lindley explains she has never hated Jen, but rather hated herself. Jen feels better and forgives her mother.
