Margaret Cho's new album has a little ditty -- a "murder ballad" titled 'I'm Sorry' -- with a backstory that's frighteningly real. As Cho explained on 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 11PM ET on TBS), the comedienne's first true love became a real-life killer.
When Cho was on 'All-American Girl' back in 1994, one of the show's writers "really broke my heart. He was the first person that I ever loved," said Cho. "For 17 years I was in love with him, and I never thought to look him up because I was sure he was married and had kids and was living in a lighthouse or something."
After turning 40, Cho Googled him and discovered a very different biography. Let's just say she's lucky they never hooked up. And the truth helps explain why a murderous Cho is traipsing around with her dead lover in the song's music video.
