'Legend of the Seeker' Canceled

Hey, fans of Legend of the Seeker: You know that 11th hour stay of execution you were hoping for? Well, you can stop hoping now - I'm hearing from multiple sources that the cult fave has been axed.

The outlook had been bleak since last March, when many of Tribune Station Group's markets dropped the syndicated series, which had been developed from Terry Goodkind's fantasy novels by Hercules/Xena producers Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert. ABC Studios, which produces it, kept shopping it around. But, I'm told, they found no takers. So, after two action-packed seasons, Legend is history.

Any last thoughts/parting words/favorite memories as the series makes its way to that great TV show graveyard in the sky?

It needed to be cancelled the show is absolute crap. The dialogue and acting was horrendous and the mythology is so convoluted with fancy "elfish" type words its ridiculous. The only reason why fanboys watched it is because every woman on that show is unbelievably sexy---compared to the leads in most shows. After watching five minutes of it while flipping through channels not even the beautiful women made me want to continue watching.

It's a good show and I liked it alot I'm a little sad it's being cancelled but it's no reall shocker because it wasnt that popular. Especially in Australia because it's only avaleble on cable is not getting the publicityit needs. It's sad to see the end of this show but I hope we will get something better in place of it.

Are you sure this is true? I remember reading on one of the producer's twitters page that they were have rumor problems about the show being canceled and that they were already well into the planning stages for season 3. Just something to look into.

I read a similar article like this saying Legend of the Seeker was being axed. So of course I freaked and I have the habit of reading comments. One of the posters said it wasn't true and put up a link to one of producers twitter page. On it it clearly stated they had been having serious problems with cancelation rumors spreading like wildfire. That it was getting ridicouls because even reliable sources were picking up the story. That he was posting news that were already were working on a season 3 and fans should not freak out.

Oh man, thank god. Do you happen to have that link? I should really follow him on twitter so I don't freak out about this... Heroes used to get cancellation rumors all the time too but that shows still running. I think what happened is that the syndication who showcased Legend of the Seeker dropped them... but the actual production company that makes it didn't stop the show. (At least this is what I hope) This is because the producers freaking made XENA WARRIOR PRINCESS and that show ran forever with a moderate fanbase and is also a cult classic. It's stupid hearing these rumors and claiming them as true until you hear it from the producers/directors/actors themselves.

well i for one was really really enjoying it as it is close the book version, but to cancel it because they want what more money that is the producers. i guess it has changed over years gone are days when people did things from the heart. THis is about heartland not reality. How is it reality gets such abig push on us and that is not what we people want. we want action adventure and instead we get told one of few shows that can really show the authors view of things is being canceled. to bad there isnt anyone out there to pick it up and sponsor it to get back on track. Oh well the producers need to learn that it isnt all about the money. You have lost your heart and all you can do is work on capitalism, MONEY MONEy thats what it takes. too bad, i really liked it instead all the good venues are being eliminated until there is no real reason to watch programming anymore. I say boycott them and let them know that this series is about morals and character. well good bye and hope to see the rest in another world, seeker, there appears to not be any in this one.

Not really surprised, the first season was awesome and I didn't really mind that they veered a little bit from the books because it was still really good, BUT the second season has been CRAP. They've veered TOTALLY off course of the plot lines from the books. It's like they're trying to shove three of the books down your throat at one time. Personally, the series has been going down hill since the start of the second season and it's cancellation is a good thing because it'll be putting fans of the book series out of their misery!
