After taking on the fashion design competition series for its seventh season, Lifetime is ready to expand its Project Runway franchise. The network is in the early stages of development on two new reality-based series starring former and current Runway stars.
The first series, in later stages of development but as-yet-untitled, will star noted former contestants Santino Rice (most recently a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race) and Austin Scarlett. The series will follow Rice (2nd Runner-up, Project Runway season 2) and Scarlett (4th place, season 1) as they tour the country helping women in desperate need of a fashion makeover.
The second series in the works will star none other than Runway host and model Hiedi Klum alongside her pop star husband Seal. Still in early stages, the show, tentatively called Love's Divine, will also feature the duo crisscrossing America. But, instead of doling out wardrobe advice, they'll be counseling troubled couples about all things love and marriage.
The two shows not only expand on the Project Runway brand, but also add to an increasingly familiar reality TV trend: we can't help but note that Kate Gosselin's upcoming Twist of Kate and Sarah Palin's Alaska, both on TLC, will also follow similar road-tripping formats when they begin airing this summer.
