* Dancing with the Stars (9 pm/ET ABC)

And the winner is...Tonight, we find out if Melissa Rycroft, Gilles Marini or Shawn Johnson takes home Season 8's coveted mirror-ball trophy after they each perform a final dance. Then the three of them must endure being roasted by comedian Jeffrey Ross. In addition, Lady Gaga performs, and a winner of the professional dancer contest is chosen. In the end, the "replacement," the formerly little-known Frenchman or the young Olympian gets to add Dancing with the Stars champion to his or her resume.

* American Idol (8 pm/ET Fox)

It wasn't okeydokey for Gokey last week. Oh Danny boy put forth a sterling effort this season, his magnetic charm and husky vocals carrying him to the Top 3. But three's company, and despite his knockout delivery of "You Are So Beautiful," a record-setting 88 million votes didn't turn his way. So that takes us to tonight's penultimate episode, the final performance edition featuring the Top 2. In one corner: front-runner Adam Lambert, with his high-registered Plant-esque wail and Presley swagger. In the other: Kris Allen, a dark horse with strong giddyup, evidenced by his intoxicating spin on Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," perhaps one of Season 8's best performances.

* The Mentalist (9 pm/ET CBS)

After his turn as the dark and dubious lead character in The Guardian, Simon Baker has found success as the charming and complex Patrick Jane. And as the first season of the crime drama comes to a close, Jane may get the chance to capture his nemesis, Red John. A girl is murdered, her twin sister is abducted, and the case seems to point to Red John, but Lisbon has reason to believe that the killer is also orchestrating a trap to lure Jane.

* Glee (9:01 pm/ET Fox)

Disney might own the High School Musical franchise, but Fox has... the glee club. Snicker at this nerdiness if you will, but creator Ryan Murphy (Nip/Tuck), adds no small amount of edge (lower-key than on Nip/Tuck - this isn't FX) as he introduces us to William McKinley High's ensemble, New Directions. In the pilot, club director Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) even gets a jock to join his nerds. Of course, he must use subterfuge to do it. Glee is scheduled to begin its regular run in the fall.

* 90210 (9 pm/ET The CW)

Prom night turns out to be a revelatory, life-changing event for some of West Beverly's teens as Season 1 ends. Adrianna goes into labor and finds herself with more than just Navid for support when Brenda shows up at the hospital. At the after-party, Annie reacts in a surprising manner to Naomi's accusations about Liam and storms off to do something she's sure to regret. And tempers continue to run high when Dixon and Ethan come to blows over Silver. Now that's a season finale!
