'Jersey Shore' Cast Goes on Strike

First, let's get the requisite joke out of the way: MTV execs have a "situation" on their hands.

Second, I may have a problem with my own headline, because to go on "strike," don't you first have to do actual work?

Whatever you want to call what they do--"work" wouldn't be my first choice, unless it has air-quotes around it--the Jersey Shore kids are refusing to do it until MTV coughs up bigger per-episode checks. TMZ reports that after unitedly deciding they're "dissatisfied" with their contracts, JWoww, Pauly D, Ronnie, Sammi and Vinny refused to film their "at home" season 3 scenes yesterday and will stay off camera until they get better deals than their current $10K per episode arrangement. Snooki and The Situation may follow suit, though the Sitch is reportedly working individually with MTV for a major bonus and bigger per-episode paycheck through Jersey Shore season 4.
