'I Love You, Phillip Morris' delayed indefinitely: You can't put Jim Carrey in a corner...can you?

I love zany rubber-face Jim Carrey as much as the next Gen Xer, but his subtle, dramatic performance in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind totally sold me, and I was really looking forward to seeing him as a gay con man who falls in love with his prison cellmate (Ewan McGregor) in I Love You, Phillip Morris, a dark comedy written by Bad Santa screenwriters Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. Sadly, despite a splashy debut at Sundance 2009 and the buzz around Carrey's role, the film is having a hard time seeing the light of day. First bumped from March to late-April, the LA Times now reports that it won't release at the end of the month after all, and there is no new date set.
