This review contains some spoilers.' If twisty-turny action-thrillers starring Angelina Jolie are your cup of tea, then you're in luck -- for that's exactly what Salt is. Humdrum in its opening stretch, the film becomes increasingly tense as the loyalties and motives of our main character come into question. And even if the picture ultimately winds up being exactly what we figured it would be when we saw the very first preview for it, it still manages to hold our attention throughout.
Jolie plays the title character -- Evelyn Salt -- a CIA agent who, soon after we first meet her, fields a "walk-in." That would be an intelligence operative from the opposing side who comes in from the cold, as it were. In this case the walk-in claims to be a Russian defector, and he says there is a sleeper agent in the agency's midst -- Salt herself! Could our beautiful Angelina really be a no-good Russkie spy?
