It's been an absolute pleasure having new episodes of Futurama back on the air. Now nine episodes in, the episodes are now truly standing on their own, with the novelty of being a returning series no longer the focus. And with episodes like "A Clockwork Origin," you're reminded why so many of us wanted the series back in the first place.
This episode came complete with everything the series can offer, centered around a futuristic battle between creationism and evolution. "A Clockwork Origin" was smart satire, while still just having a lot of fun. I felt this episode had the best pacing of any of the season so far, with action and comedy coming quickly, but still leaving time for a proper story to unfold and grow. The rapid evolution of the robots allowed for much of this great timing. Because the robots were continually moving forward, so too was the episode. There was nary a dull moment in the entire half hour.
