SideReel's Top 10 Butt-Kicking Babes, Part 2 - Featured

Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Buffy Summers

Buffy may have been little, but she sure was mighty! So yeah, the girl may have gotten a little help from her Slayer strength, but it was not just Buffy's strength, but her smarts and gusto that made her such an awesome butt-kicking babe. Stopping an apocalypse? No problemo! Also loved how the girl was never too proud to accept a little help from her friends, who as the series progressed, also became key in stopping evil many times over.

Alias - Sydney Bristow

I don't think I've ever seen more convincing fight scenes than in an episode of Alias. Sydney Bristow, for me, was like the female Jack Bauer (24). Put plainly, she was a butt-kicking babe. I'd want her by my side in a dangerous situation before any dude. Loved how the resourceful Bristow would use everything in sight to supplement her fight (from furniture to kitchen supplies)...all while wearing the coolest (and hottest) disguises you've ever seen on TV.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Sarah Connor and Cameron

So it might be the guy - John Connor - that saves the world in the future, but in the present, thank god that kid is surrounded by not one, but two butt kicking babes, or I'm not so sure he'd make it to the future to save us all! He's got his mother, Sarah Connor, who you have to admit, is pretty frackin' awesome. She has no superpowers, yet emits a feeling of strength and cool. And...in the event that John's mother can't save him all of the time, throw on in Cameron, who is kinda programmed to be a butt kicking babe, since she is after all a Terminator. But...Cameron does it with humor and heart, so we won't hold the advantage against her!

Smallville - Lois Lane and Chloe Sullivan

Guess we're going to have 11 butt-kicking babes, as I am selecting 2 from Smallville as well. I got sick of Lana Lang on Smallville for many reasons, but the primary one was probably...how many times are you going to get yourself into a situation of grave danger so that Clark has to rescue you? While cousins Lois and Chloe have both had their fair share of "getting rescued by Clark" moments as well, they are decidedly more capable of taking care of themselves. Chloe's got some meteor-related abilities that help her out, but even before realizing those, always used her innate smarts to assist in a situation. Lois, too, has always been a smart, confident woman, and with her father's military background, is definitely capable of some self-defense. And...the two combined have some pretty butt-kicking journalistic and investigative skills.

So...who are your favorite butt-kicking babes?

Veronica Mars. Undeniable ass-kicking all day every day, even when it's not usually physical.
| 23:46 EDT, 03 May, 2009
Oops, forgot: Carter - Stargate;)
| 23:37 EDT, 03 May, 2009
Wow, you really missed some on that list :O Starbuck - BattlestarAeryn Sun - FarscapeFiona - Burn NoticeMax - Dark AngelZiva - NCISXena (meh)and the chicks from Flashpoint. The women on Lost, Smallville or Veronica Mars don't come close to the butt-kicking prowess of these ladies ...

I have to say I love this particular feature. Kick ass women are generally the reason I watch and enjoy television (feministic inbred, party of one).I love all these characters! I'm really missing River from Firefly. But Summer Glau's there with Cameron, so that makes it sting less - i guess. That rhymed. Unintentionally. The wonderful mossad trained Ziva, the brilliant and literally ass-kicking Brennan aka Bones, Undercover agent Sydney Bristow and the ultimate proof of maternal love: Sarah Connor - All real women (By that I mean no superpowers, we're obviuosly not talking bout your regular Janes here) in television today, who could kick their male counterparts' in their respective shows ass. Booth and Brennan might just make it a tussle but - nevermind. And - oh Veronica! How I have missed you - and the opportunity to write about how ultimate a teenage hero you are/were. She is in my opinion the ultimate heroine, because she haven't got special ops training, fancy degrees, cool spy gear (well yes, but the kind you can actually buy in a store). She was a character that went by her own moral code, never followed anyone's footsteps but her own. She is perhaps the single best character in television who was decidedly unpopular amongst her peers, her peers parents and most people she met, who still was so undeniably cool and so sure of herself, that you completely wanted to be her.I don't think I can come up with a character in television or film, that's even come close to being such a good "rolemodel" for teenagers and so. Because of the sole reason that she's not excactly a good excample - she isn't that good a citizen, she's not a very liked person, but when it comes down to it - she's a really good person. They made a teenage sleuth become a decidedly well-developed and believable character. Hats off to Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas on this one! Yay. Oh. Chiick. That was a bit long. Go Veronica!

How about Olivia Dunbar from Fringe?
| 20:15 EDT, 29 Apr, 2009
Sydney!! Alias was the best show ever!Buffy is also awesome!I think Brennan on Bones randomly kicks ass sometimes but I don't know if she qualifies because it's not in every episode. Same with Veronica Mars.Echo from Dollhouse is pretty awesome when she's been programmed to be so!! haha
