We reported yesterday that the Jon and Kate Plus 8 patriarch and TLC have finally achieved a settlement of their lawsuit. Jon Gosselin's team even added that they hope to work with the network again, but it doesn't look like the feeling is mutual.
Radar Online reports that TLC has stated outright that they don't want him back on the small screen. Sources told the publication that the network isn't supporting any of his appearances anymore, because they've had it with the Gosselin dad.
As most of us already know, the network sued Jon Gosselin and accused him of breaching their contract. They won the preliminary injunction against him last year, but the reality TV dad filed a counterclaim. The problem's been resolved so far, though the future really looks bleak for the star.
"TLC is done with Jon. They have him under contract still, but they don't plan to use him," the insider announced. Does that mean the father of eight is still employed there? We can't say yet, because we're busy wondering if Jon and Kate Plus 8 will be making a comeback.
According to the report, the heads of TLC have been discussing this issue for quite some time now. While they all agree that they no longer want Jon Gosselin, there's still hope for the show. That is, they're really banking on its former success to bring it to TV again.
The source says there's a possibility, but it won't be the same as before. Obviously, what transpired in the past didn't work out all that well. So what is TLC planning in its place?
"The show could come back as a series of specials," the TV insider revealed. "It made the network a lot of money."
But while that's true, it's still unlikely. Besides, the network announced that they're focusing on Kate Gosselin's new show instead. Jon may still have loose ties with TLC, but he can't just trump his ex-wife's connections with them.
