On Sunday's episode of Army Wives - "About Face" - Denise (Catherine Bell) learns that Frank (Terry Serpico) may have been injured in a mission, as Claudia Joy (Kim Delaney) attempts to keep her family together. Elsewhere on the episode, Roland (Sterling K. Brown) questions his career choices, and Pamela (Brigid Brannagh) helps new Army wives adjust to life on the base.
During the opening of the Lifetime drama's sophomore season last week, the Army wives were banding together to support Claudia Joy after her daughter disappeared on the eve of the family's imminent overseas transfer. Meanwhile, Claudia Joy started preparing to uproot her entire life for the sake of her husband's new job, all the while struggling to remain strong for all of those around her.
Roxy, meanwhile, was fighting to hold on to her bar but some things had her reevaluating the business and the subsequent emotional toll that it was taking on her. Pamela, meanwhile, had to be both mother and father to her kids. While new father Roland was wrestling with the news of Joan's deployment. Denise faced the devastating consequences when her affair became the talk of the post.
Army Wives, which follows the plight of a diverse group of women and a man living with their spouses and families on an active Army post, returned last week for an 18-episode third season. It was based on a book called Under the Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives, written by Tanya Biank, who now serves as a show consultant.
