The Venture Bros.: "Pinstripes and Poltergeists" Review Season 4, Episode 8

Two of The Venture Bros.' most amusing and beloved characters return to the forefront of the series in "Pinstripes and Poltergeists," as Brock Samson and Number 24 make their presence felt for the first time in a long time. In the case of Brock, we finally learn what the Venture's former bodyguard has been up to since joining up with former O.S.I. operatives Hunter Gathers and Shore Leave in the rogue S.P.H.I.N.X. organization. As for Number 24, the fact that he returns only as a ghost capable of communicating with Number 21 alone doesn't change the fact that it's great and often hilarious to see the two friends interact once again.

The episode is the last to air before this fourth season returns for "round two" in Summer 2010, which means it had to offer a lot in order to leave fans satisfied. Bringing both Brock and Number 24 back was a good first step toward making the episode fulfilling. Surrounding them with nearly all of the series' main players in the sort of mishmash of circumstances usually relegated to a season finale ensured "Pinstripes and Poltergeists" would make the grade.
