It's a teaser way, way ahead of schedule, but we'll take it nonetheless.
John Scurti, who plays quirky, philosophical Lou on FX's Rescue Me, let it slip to TV Guide that the firefighter-centric series will end with he and main man Tom (Denis Leary) together. He's probably a little biased, but he thinks the final scene featuring the two of them is "one of the most beautiful things" - so beautiful in fact that it's in the "top five of all series endings."
Rescue Me just wrapped up filming its series finale last week, several weeks before its penultimate season kicks off on June 29. The final episode is set to air sometime close to 9/11's 10th anniversary next year.
"As we were getting ready to shoot it, I was thinking that I know that son of a bitch Dennis enough to expect that if I'm going to say 'And that's the way it,' he's going to go, 'Yup!' so he can have that last line. But he didn't. He let me have it," he explains.
To backtrack a little, the upcoming season of Rescue Me will deal with, among others, Tommy Gavin's task of finding redemption and the relationship among the "nuclear firefighting family."
There promises to be a lot of "kitchen scenes with the guys hanging out," assures Mike Lombardi, who plays sexually ambiguous Mike on the series. Andrea Roth will be back as Tommy's pregnant-but-filed-for-divorce wife Janet, as well as Maura Tierney as another love interest for Tom and newcomer Cody Horn as Emily.
