I don't know what it is about cycle 14 of America's Next Top Model, but something just seems to feel off every week. I know that in reality TV world, each contestant on a show has their time to shine while others sit in the background; but, this week's episode of Top Model put a lot of girls in the background which is odd considering the small number left competing. If there were 12 or 13, okay, I get it, but when we're down to nine girls, the models should be focused on relatively equally.
This week's challenge and teach revolved around gaining chemistry with the opposite sex. Considering that a majority of the contestants are young and have babies, it seems like they should have that concept down. Ironically though, this proved to be hard work. The misleading previews on the CW made it seem like Jessica would be getting in trouble for putting the moves on their "test model," Nigel Barker, but that was not the case. He wasn't even really part of the challenge. Initially, we saw how a few girls interacted with Nigel when they were told by Miss J to "break the ice." Angelea did an awkward dance, Anslee talked about her child (go figure), and Jessica well, Jessica pretty much threw herself at Nigel. The previews didn't lie about that; but, it was in jest and she didn't get in trouble for it. The after-school special message given to the girls post teach was that they needed to "be themselves" to impress people.
