Booth saying the L word to Brennan may be the best season appetizer in the history of Bones so it's going to be hard to top last week's premiere but it looks like the second episode of the fifth season is just as promising. And judging from the promo trailer, we'll find Booth and Brennan dealing with a body, a gun and a silver car as they investigate a new case, which gets even more interesting as the show takes on a James Bond twist.
"The Bond in the Boot" kicks off with Booth and Brennan examining the body of a man murdered for the undisclosed contents of a briefcase. Early evidence leads the team to suspect secret operatives are behind the killing and their assumption is further supported when they discover the remains of a CIA agent in a trunk of a car. Oh and the body is somewhat in liquid form so you can just imagine Booth throwing in some kind of banter for some comic relief.
Unfortunately, looking into the CIA proves to be a difficult task because when Booth and Brennan interrogate the CIA's Assistant Director of Intelligence, they are left unsure of his allegiance to the U.S.
At the same time, Brennan's best-selling book leads to financial success and serves as a point of conflict with Booth. Moreover, Jeffersonian intern Wendell (guest star Michael Grant Terry) loses his scholarship, leaving the team to look for alternative funding to keep him around in.
