Dev Patel Replaces McCartney in "The Last Airbender"

Dev Patel of Slumdog Millionaire has been cast as villain Zuko in M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming 2010 live-action movie The Last Airbender, based on Nick series Avatar: The Last Airbender.

McCartney is being replaced due to rumors that he didn't mesh with the cast, though studio Paramount Pictures has also been under fire for casting an all-white cast in a film centering around a story with Asian origins.

Filming begins for The Last Airbender this March.

It's such a great animated show. I hope that they keep the core of the show alive in this live action movie.

omigosh.. they're prolly gonna butcher avatar as they did dragon ball z, streetfighter etc... part of my heart is praying that this movie somehow falls apart and never ever finishes and never airs...the actors are okay i guess.. but making avatar into a live-action movie... *shivers
