Fortune Arterial Episode #12 Anime Review

Erika's struggle with her blood hunger has pushed her pretty far in recent episodes and the taking of blood she did from Kohei was extremely difficult for her to do, even as he was willing. Ever since getting that taste though, the packets she had won't suffice anymore and she doesn't want to take on a servant or to do what she'd consider be ruining Kohei's life. Because of that, she's given in and simply returned to her mother without a servant and has abandoned the simple school life she treasured so much. This is hugely difficult for her to do, but it's just as hard for Kohei to understand since he knows what she desperately wanted and he wanted to help provide that for her in any way possible.

For Kohei, the loss of Erika is difficult but I liked that he still went on with his duties rather than throwing everything to the wind and racing blindly after her. He only does that after spending time with his friends who talk about how Erika couldn't actually leave, since they're unaware of what happened, and don't believe what he's saying about it. When he does decide to go and do something about it, essentially confronting Erika's mother, he does run off blindly to find her, but it's actually called out pretty nicely by the others who offer to take him to her so he can face her down himself. There's a confidence on their part about it, but it's partially in that they just want to see what Kohei will try to do and to see how the standoff of wills will play out.
