There was so much good stuff in this episode, it’s hard to know where to begin. First off there was the emotional turmoil from the team having to protect a man who is a mass murderer. I like that they never backed down on that job, even before they knew that his intentions were to come to this country and give himself up so that he could end the war back home. They didn’t like it, but they still did their jobs.
Then there’s the whole story of McGarrett’s old SEAL buddy coming back into town and putting a little rift between him and Danny. McGarrett doesn’t listen to Danny’s gut and it bites him royally in the ass when the guy turns out to be the assassin. That storyline was great because in the end, it brought the partners closer together after McGarrett realized he should have heeded Danny’s warnings.
Plus it gave us an amazing car chase/shoot out in the street, complete with explosions. Then it gave us a lockdown with just the team on their own up against an invasion of bad guys, PLUS a hand to hand fight between McGarrett and Nick.
