Lost in thought, Neko demands Ryota to keep her identity of a witch a secret. In a flashback, Kuroneko waits to go to the ocean with Ryota, but never got the chance. Neko absent, so Ryota's homeroom teacher asks him to give Neko some pamphlets. Following the address, Ryota saw Self-Defense Force vehicles passing by. He finds Neko is living in a run-down village as her hideout. Neko says she only transferred to prevent certain deaths. She explains how she and other witches were experimented at a top-secret lab until they escaped. Couldn't help but be interested in Neko, Ryota run back and into the house that Neko staying in. Finding a figure resemble a girl, Neko says her name is Kana Tachibana who is unable to move or speak due to being paralyzed, though she communicates with a small keyboard. Learning Kana's ability is forecast people's deaths. Kana tells Neko that the lab researchers have captured a fellow witch, Kanade, and then killed. As Ryota leaves, Kana convinces Neko to go to school. Ryota comes over again, with bread and sweets to give. He asks Neko she should come to the ocean trip next weekend.
