Tom Riley stars in brand new ITV Encore crime thriller Dark Heart

Tom Riley (Da Vinci’s Demon, Monroe) plays DI Will Wagstaffe, a man haunted by his past, in a brand new drama, Dark Heart, for ITV Encore. The 1 x 2 hour drama set in London, produced by ITV Studios, is written by acclaimed writer Chris Lang (Unforgotten, A Mother’s Son) and based on the novel Suffer the Children by Adam Creed. DI Will Wagstaffe, known as Staffe, is at London City airport when his colleague, DC Josie Chancellor (Anjli Mohindra) calls him to tell him there’s been a gruesome murder. Starz recently announced that the upcoming third season of Da Vincis Demons will be the period dramas last. The series, which has been off the air for almostyear and a half, has been a respectable performer, so the decision to end it before seeing how Season 3 does was somewhat of a surprise. Just when Andrea comes back into the picture, you take him away from us. Granted, I knew something ominous was about to happen as Leo’s dear maestro was walking down the stairs all excited to journey to Vinci. A happy supporting character in a show like  Da Vinci’s Demons  never ends well. Andrea at least got to go out knowing he helped Leo fix and solve the riddle of the brazen head.
