Damages: Can Chris Messina's Sanchez Trust His Superiors?

There's a good reason Damages ' Chris Messina seems jittery most of the time he's on the screen — and it's only partly because his character is a soldier suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. "I felt a huge responsibility to the soldiers to make it as honest as I could," Messina tells TVGuide.com. "I played a lot with sleep, and I think the most I didn't sleep was three days in a row. And I'm not a caffeine drinker, but I would play with drinking a bunch of Red Bull before the take. So, the sleep deprivation on top of the instant sugar-caffeine rush ended up making me very shaky." John Goodman Dishes on 'Damages' and 'Monsters, Inc' Sequel on 'The View' (VIDEO)

John Goodman covered a good portion of his career, past, present, and future in his interview on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) Wednesday. He talked about his current role on 'Damages,' whether Roseanne Barr would make a good president, 'The Big Lebowski,' and a 'Monsters, Inc.' sequel. Sherri Shepherd said 'Damages' creators wanted him for the role of Howard T. Erickson, CEO of a military contractor, because he was both "cuddly" and "fierce." She asked if he agreed with that assessment, and Goodman laughed. "Like one of those imported Chinese pandas stuffed with cotton and auto parts and drain cleaner," he said. http://www.aoltv.com/2011/07/20/john-goodman-the-view-video/

Glenn Close Previews 'Damages' Season 4 on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (VIDEO)

There's an old adage in show business that advises actors to never to work with animals or kids. Well, on 'Damages,' Glenn Close plays lawyer Patty Hewes, who is kind of an animal. And on season four, which kicks off Wednesday on DirectTV, Close works with a kid when Hewes is left to take care of her granddaughter. Close previewed the new season Wednesday on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated). Regis and Kelly wanted to know if having a little child around would soften Hewes. "I think in some ways, yes," said Close. "Because if anybody knows her back story, she did, she had a little girl that she lost. So I think that has to bring up, you know, some thoughts." http://www.aoltv.com/2011/07/13/glenn-close-damages-season-4-regis-kelly-video/

On the Set: Damages Lives to Fight Another Case

After the first three mind-blowing seasons of Damages , nothing should come as a surprise. But all the backstabbing and mayhem we've seen still doesn't quite prepare us for the scene being shot today at the show's Brooklyn soundstages:  Glenn Close's Patty Hewes gazing tenderly into a child's eyes. OK, now we're shocked! Turns out Patty is the guardian of her granddaughter. The hard-charging lawyer gained custody after ensuring the child's mother was jailed for statutory rape and her father, Patty's son, Michael (Zachary Booth), seemingly tried to run his mom down and went on... http://www.tvguide.com/News/Set-Damages-Lives-1035209.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'Damages' Season 4: Glenn Close and Rose Byrne remain TV's strongest female duo

To the millions of TV viewers who think "Rizzoli & Isles" is the height of platonic female chemistry, I ask that you briefly consider "Damages" -- even though the legal thriller recently became much harder to track down. After not getting a pick-up from FX it moved to DirecTV's Audience Network, where, unlike other DirecTV rescued series "Friday Night Lights," it will air exclusively until its DVD release. But for anyone with DirecTV, "Damages" is essentially required viewing. Like recent seasons, the latest (premiering July 13) picks up with a bit of a convoluted case and a new group of high profile actors -- John Goodman, Dylan Baker, Chris Messina -- cast as nefarious and/or tortured players. But it continues to boast two of the medium's greatest assets: Glenn Close and Rose Byrne.Since the series' 2007 debut, the duo have nurtured the characters of Patty Hewes and Ellen Parsons, respectively, watching them drift in and... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/07/damages-season-4-glenn-close-and-rose-byrne-remain-tvs-strongest-female-duo.html
