Is a 'Gossip Girl' movie in the works? Not so fast

It's no secret that we weren't particularly satisfied by the series finale of "Gossip Girl" this season... but could a feature film help resolve some of the issues we had with the conclusion?Rumors spread early this year that series star Blake Lively was blocking a potential movie from being made, because she was "desperate to avoid" reprising her role of Serena Van Der Woodsen.Star said that Lively's co-stars, like Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick, were "infuriated" by her decision not to sign on to expand the "Gossip Girl" franchise to the big screen. Not so fast!Turns out, those rumors were completely false. Even though we all totally wish that she was the voice inside our heads, the wind beneath our wings, even KBell thinks it makes zero logical sense that Dan is Gossip Girl. In fact she said as much to Indie Wire's Peter...

The End Of 'Gossip Girl': Was It Worth It?

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 6, Episode 10 of The CW's "Gossip Girl," titled "New York, I Love You XOXO." And so it ends -- not with a bang but with a whimper. Though I watched the " Gossip Girl " finale while sleep deprived after an international flight, I've been ruminating on it for a day (which, let's be honest, is far more examination than it deserves), just to make sure I couldn't blame the episode's awfulness on my delirium. We all knew that the series finale wasn't going to be good -- it's still the same writing team who led us down this merry, Sage-filled path all season, after all -- but I guess I wanted to give it more credit than it actually merited, as if the producers were going to pull an eleventh hour 180 and address all the insanity, self-indulgence and mind-boggling characterization we've suffered through for the past few seasons.
