Taylor Momsen has been slammed by anti-smoking campaigners for lighting up illegally onstage on Sunday, June 27 - officials have branded it "a dumb thing to do". The "Gossip Girl" star was performing with her band The Pretty Reckless in California when she took time out from their set to smoke. The 16 year old is two years below the legal age to buy and smoke cigarettes in the state of California - and her onstage antics have sparked outrage. Momsen has been blasted by officials at Britain's Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) organization for succumbing to the "filthy, deadly addiction" - and for setting a bad example to her young fans. A spokesperson for ASH tells WENN, "Clearly Momsen's act is designed to shock and smoking illegally on stage is part of that act. It is to be hoped that her fans have the maturity to see that her smoking is neither cool nor glamorous but a filthy, deadly addiction and a dumb thing to do." Source Here
PENN Badgley (Dan) will go from a show about fantastic wealth (GG, natch) to a movie about the darkest days of the American economy. Pennâs been cast in Margin Call, a new film about the first 24 hours of the latest Wall Street financial crisis. Presumably he will play a subprime mortgage. We kid, we kid. We're actually not sure what role he'll be playing, but we do know that he co-stars with Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Simon Baker, Stanley Tucci, and Zachary Quinto. Some pretty good company! Congrats, Penn! Source Here
Good news and bad news. The good news, first: Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello has assured us that Gossip Girl will not play the amnesia card with alive-and-squinting Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) when the series returns next season. That Chuck will lose his memory after getting mugged and shot on the season finale was top of mind on Gossip Girl fans' after CW confirmed that the Chucker will have "a new identity" when he joins now ex Blair (Leighton Meester) and Serena (Blake Lively) in Paris next season. "Season 4 will open with a radiant Serena and Blair enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris. Until Chuck mysteriously arrives in town with a new girlfriend and a new identity," the synopsis read. EW repeats: "The little Bass-tard will emerge from his near-death experience a very changed man," but: no amnesia. To Read More Click Here .
Gossip Girl star Connor Paolo recently chatted with celebrity gossip site JustJared.com in New York, and the 19-year-old actor had this to say on the following topics ... On his summer plans while Gossip Girl is on hiatus: âIâm supposed to get down to - or up - in Amsterdam and to Montreal and hopefully to go to the beach.â On his hopes for Eric next season: âEric is now the only one left in high school. Now is the time to watch him handle stuff on his own considering how many hang-ups heâs had in the past about being alone. Now that Jennyâs gone and his father wasnât there." Chace Crawford's fate rests in the hands of the District Attorney in Collin County, Texas - the official will decide whether to press charges against the actor following his arrest for drug possession. The "Gossip Girl" star was booked on a misdemeanor after he was caught with an unlit marijuana joint on his person in a Plano parking lot shortly after midnight last Friday, June 4. He was released on bail and cops have now passed the case onto the District Attorney to determine if Crawford should be punished, reports TMZ. If charges are filed, the 24 year old will face six months in jail for the count. In coincidence with his drug possession case, Chace Crawford's movie "Twelve" which follows him as a drug dealer will be released soon. The drama movie which also stars Emma Roberts and 50 Cent is due in the U.S. on July 2. Source Here
The Gossip Girl landscape will probably not be the same again thanks to Chace Crawford's arrest. Now they won't be able to do a decent narcotic story without fans thinking of Nate Archibald especially if he's not in the arc. The other Gossip Girl hunk, Ed Westwick, thinks that British sweetheart (and, if you believe the rumors, Derek Hough's flame) Cheryl Cole should make a cameo on the CW series. "My dad's from the north east of England so if Cheryl Cole was to make an appearance on our show, it would be great. I could talk to her about the amount of times I've been up to the north east," says Westwick, who hails from the UK and admits being a fan of the Girls Aloud and X Factor star. CHACE Crawford (Nate) doesn't seem to think that Nate and Serena are soulmates. "It was more like, On to the next one," he says of their liaison. Fair enough, since their characters have already gone their separate ways. Chace also shoots the breeze to LA Confidential Magazine about his favorite restaurants in L.A., paparazzi-induced paranoia, and a planned trip to Texas for a little R&R. Obviously this was last week, before he knew that "R&R" would stand for 'rrested for reefer. To Read More Click Here .
With all the recent Chuck and Blair drama - and to a lesser extent, Dan and Serena debate - among Gossip Girl fans, Nate Archibald has almost been lost in the shuffle. Say this for Nate - he's not digging Serena's (Blake Lively) obvious mental illness, or Taylor Momsen's infamous eye makeup. Well, Chace Crawford isn't, in any case. "It's an expensive habit," Chace laughs. "It's an expensive raccoon thing." "She rocks the look, though, I guess." But is there any hope for Jenny and Nate? Chace admits: "I always thought [Nate and Jenny] was a little weird. There's the age gap, she's still in high school... " As for a certain blonde girl he dated for a big chunk of this season? You may have cheered noticed the lack of Vanessa Abrams on the final two episodes of Gossip Girl this May. But was that by design, or a contractual issue with Jessica Szohr? According to Gossip Girl executive producer Stephanie Savage (via EW), it was the former. 'The big story at the end of this season was the [William] story, and we wanted Dan to be available to really be in that story with everyone else,'Â Steph explains. 'And it felt like it was nicer to give Dan and Vanessa their own ending to their story rather than try and thread that through that [William's] complex story line.'Â In other words, even the producers know V is kinda useless when it comes to broad, intertwining plots that bring the Gossip Girl characters together. Awesome. Source Here
