Marinette’s uncle, the world-renowned Chinese chef Wang Cheng, visits Paris to participate in a cooking show called 'The Greatest Chef in the World'. Since Marinette struggles with speaking in Chinese, she calls Alya for help. However, Alya decides to call Adrien to act as a translator between the two, since he can speak fluent chinese. Before the show starts, Marinette and Adrien run into Chloé, whom they discover is a judge on the show. Chloé mocks Chef Cheng for being a foreigner, and is outraged when Marinette stands up for him and fends off her insults. She decides to exact her revenge by sabotaging Chef Cheng’s famous Celestial Soup, thereby ensuring that Marinette's uncle loses the competition. Following his painful defeat, Chef Cheng becomes influenced by Hawk Moth and turns into 'Kung Food', a supervillain who enslaves those who eat his ruined soup.
