Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed—or at least be able to fake it—with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV. New Girl Tuesday at 9:00pm on FOX Why: I used to loathe this show. Perhaps I was too jaded or perhaps Zooey Deschanel's character ended up on the wrong side of the adorably twee/mentally deficient line. WHO KNOWS. But either I've changed or the show has (or we both have), but now it's a true delight. How can it get more delightful? By spending much of the episode playing that most ridiculous of sports: golf. Prepare to talk about: Why Jess and Fawn are dressed to play tennis instead of golf; how Winston is the best roommate; what's going to happen with Schmidt and CeCe (I mean, obviously they're getting back together, but let's pretend there's some suspense); how this episode is season 4, episode 20 (lol 420, dude). Marvel's Daredevil (Series Premiere) Friday at 3:00am on Netflix Why: Because Matt Murdock/Daredevil is definitely your favorite blind crimefighter... or OK, if not your favorite, then at least he's the only one. And Marvel's television game is strong! And they've partnered with Netflix on this, so even if it sucks at least the portions are big! Prepare to talk about: How Matt "Daredevil" Murdock is the very definition of "differently abled"; how Ben Affleck used to play him but has now graduated to Batman, which — hah — is still funny; how Vincent D'Onofrio looks to have returned to his Full Metal Jacket physique. Game of Thrones (Season Premiere) Sunday at 9:00pm on HBO Why: Because, to paraphrase Beyoncé, "Who run the world? NERDS!" Honestly, if someone had told you 5 1/2 years ago that this dragon and fantasy epic would be the biggest show on TV, would you have believed him? I gave up a chance to sit on the Iron Throne at Philadelphia's 30th Street Station a week before the premiere because it seemed beyond stupid , but now I go to a GoT theme party every year (and wear a dragon hat), and I went on a GoT tour in Iceland . This is all a roundabout way of saying that if you're not watching, you are not a fully-functional member of society. Sorry, olds. Prepare to talk about: Dany's new dress: hot or not? Boobs, number of; what's the deal with Dorne! Wangs, number of (hint: never enough). Leah E. Friedman is the editor of SideReel.com. You can follow her musings on Twitter .
