When "New Girl" presents a panel at Paleyfest, the show does it right. The entire cast -- plus five of the show's producers -- arrived to answer questions, show an upcoming episode and generally act silly. They also were willing to share a whole bunch of tidbits about upcoming episodes. What did we learn? Here are 10 spoilers from the panel presented by the Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles.1. In the next episode, "Quick Hardening Caulk," (airing on Tuesday, March 19) fans of the Jess-Nick relationship will be pleased to know that -- thanks in part to pain medication -- the feelings between the two get brought out into the open.2. At one point in the episode, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) talks about Winston (Lamorne Morris) peeing on him.3. "Man's Night" is really not the best idea for a bar promotion, even if there are tubs of nachos involved.4. A fish is very... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/03/new-girl-at-paleyfest-10-season-2-spoilers-from-the-panel.html

"American Idol" may not be the ratings monster it once was, but it's still a power player for FOX and the network hopes to capitalize on that with a one-night-only special airing of comedies "New Girl" and "The Mindy Project" after "Idol" on Thursday, April 4.The "New Girl" episode "Date Night" features Jess (Zooey Dechanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) attempting to go on a "first date." "The Mindy Project" episode "Mindy's Birthday" features Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) throwing Mindy (Mindy Kaling) a surprise party."New Girl" and "Mindy" typically air on Tuesdays, where the former has struggled to match its Season 1 ratings and the latter has simply struggled. But both comedies have devoted and deserved followings among fans and TV critics, so FOX probably figures a potential audience boost from "Idol" can't hurt.It also gives FOX the chance to test how a show other than "Glee" fares in the 9 p.m. post-"Idol" timeslot. Season 4 of... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/02/new-girl-mindy-project-to-get-american-idol-boost-from-fox.html

Following news of Margo Martindale's addition as Mrs. Miller, the Fox comedy continues to beef up guests for an upcoming trip to the character's native Chicago. http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/thr/television/~3/kPJctRqLFhE/story01.htm
We have already met Nick's father -- a con man played by Dennis Farina -- on "New Girl." And soon we will be meeting up with the man's mother. As it turns out, Mrs. Miller will be played by Emmy-winner Margo Martindale ("Justified," "The Americans").Who is this lady who begat Nick (Jake Johnson)?Audiences will meet Nick's mother in a March episode when the roommates travel to Chicago (as first reported by EW.com). There, the friends will be surprised to learn that -- compared to the rest of his family -- Nick is actually a pretty responsible and mature person.Yes, Mom is that nutty. The lady is described as extremely emotional and rather stubborn. Unfortunately for Jess (Zooey Deschanel), Nick's mom isn't such a fan. Whether or not Nick and Jess manage to have a relationship of any sort by this point, at least one member of the Miller fan will not approve.Margo Martindale won the... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/02/new-girl-emmy-winner-margo-martindale-cast-as-nicks-mother.html
Jess and Nick kissed. It happened. That first kiss is over. So what happens next? If you guessed "Indian marriage convention," then congratulations -- you are far more perceptive than most. That, or you're far more in-tune with the insanity that is "New Girl." Because an Indian marriage convention is exactly what we get in "Table 34."The road to "Table 34"We can guess why procreation-obsessed Cece (Hannah Simone) would be at the convention. After all, she wants to find a good, stable husband to father her children ASAP. She's the easy one. As for the others...Jess: Of course Cece is the first to know about the kiss between Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson). And because Jess chooses to obsess about said kiss (and rightly so), Cece brings her friend along to the convention.Schmidt: He finds out that Cece would be there. And where Cece goes, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) follows. In a turban.Nick... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/02/new-girl-the-aftermath-of-a-kiss-in-table-34.html
If you were hoping for a quick happily ever after following the epic kiss between Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) on "New Girl," this news is really, really going to disappoint you. The FOX comedy has cast Odette Annable in the recurring role of Nick's girlfriend.Sorry.Annable, best known for her roles on "House," "Breaking In" and "Brothers and Sisters," will play the character of Shane, according to TVLine. Shane comes into Nick's life when she is hired as the new manager at the bar. A graduate of management school, Shane is basically the anti-Nick -- efficient and perky. Of course Nick has to fall for her.Annable is expected to appear in several episodes of "New Girl" this spring, indicating that this particular romance is more than just a one-night stand.Where does this leave Jess and Nick? Without giving too much away, let's just say that the pair will not be going straight... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/02/new-girl-casting-odette-annable-will-play-nicks-new-girlfriend.html
