Cheers to Royal Pains for keeping the spirit of Damages alive. FX may not have renewed its superb legal thriller, but two of its alums have found summer jobs on USA's breezy medical dramedy. Campbell Scott, so chilling as Joe Tobin - the WASP Michael Corleone - on Season 3 of Damages, has reprised his recurring Royal Pains role as Boris, the cagey billionaire with a mysterious ailment. After his breakthrough roles in the terminal-disease dramas Longtime Companion (1989) and Dying Young (1991), Scott's mostly been cast in dead-serious roles, and he looks like he's having a ball with Boris' unplaceably silly Euro-accent. Meanwhile, Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden (Pollock) - aka Damages' Season 2 corporate shark Claire Maddox - has joined Hamptons Heritage Hospital's staff as Elizabeth Blair, an imperious surgeon who's giving do-gooder Dr. Jill Casey (Jill Flint) a severe case of agita. Now if Royal Pains would just hire Martin Short and Lily Tomlin, Damages' apparent demise might hurt a little less... Source Here

It may still be the middle of summer in the world of Royal Pains, but there's a mysterious cloud headed for the Hamptons in Season 2, in the form of Hank and Evan's elusive father, Eddie. Last time viewers saw the Lawson brothers, Hank (Mark Feuerstein) was reeling from the revelation that his doctor concierge business, HankMed, was bankrupt after Evan (Paulo Costanzo) made the money available to Eddie. "We pick up the morning after the Season 1 finale. There's a little bit of a hangover effect from all the stuff that happened the night before," co-creator and co-executive producer Andrew Lenchewski tells TVGuide.com of the season premiere, airing Thursday at 10/9c on USA. "But pretty quickly, new events unfold that suck our characters back into the world of the medical emergencies." Although it's back to business as usual for Hank, Evan's error in judgment is not so easily forgotten. To Read More Click Here .
When Royal Pains returns for season two tomorrow night, the series will pick up where season one left off: * HankMed is still bankrupt. * Boris is still dying. * Divya is still engaged. As for Anastasia Griffith, who will recur as Dr. Emily Peck for multiple episodes, Mark Feuerstein told Fancast.com she'll âdefinitely a roadblock on many fronts,. She becomes a potential competitor in the concierge medicine industry. And then sheâs also going to maybe be Jillâs competition, because thereâs a little something going on with her and Hank." USA's famous tagline "Characters Welcome" means that it is a channel not only dedicated to entertaining audiences, but that the entertainment might be a little more quirky than most television. This is a welcome change from stations that churn out the same mind numbing procedurals year after year. With Monk , In Plain Sight , Psych , and Burn Notice , they've introduced amusing and memorable characters who come from popular genres (detective, spy, action) with a unique spin. One of their newest successes is a show titled Royal Pains , a medical show set in the Hamptons that blends a little House-esque mystery case with a MacGyver style of treatment. The second season premieres tomorrow, and USA invited Starpulse.com to visit the set, speak with the actors, and get a sneak peak at what is coming up for the show. To Read More Click Here .

Welcome to a new week of TV! Summer is here! And yes, this can still mean TV excitement - thank goodness for cable and reality TV? Hm. As summer TV kicks off, don't forget to check our list of premieres each week like this week's This Week's Summer Premieres Are On Fire, From Hell's Kitchen to Burn Notice , and keep track of all the upcoming summer premieres on our full Summer Premiere Schedule ! What I'm Excited For This Week on TV: While I impatiently await the June 13th premiere of True Blood , there are plenty of premieres and episodes I'm excited to catch this week. Check out my favs that I highly recommend you dive into for the first week of summer TV as well! I will note here, though, I'm not big on most of the summer reality shows, so don't forget to check out the posts above for those I'm leaving out. Glee - Tonight brings the second to last Glee of the season, so soak it up while you can, Gleeks! (Like we won't all be rewatching the eps all summer long!) This week is all about the glee club's "funk" after to seeing Vocal Adrenaline rock their Gaga-socks off. Yes, it's true... Kurt wears the same shirt twice in a week, and Mr. Schue decides it's time to turn their funk into some mad funkiness... like the music, not the cheese. So here's to seeing New Directions get down one second-to-last time this spring! Also, don't forget to check out our newest editor, Alex's, new Glee top 10: 10 Reasons SideReel Loves Glee's Puck, Even Though He's Such A Bad Boy ! Burn Notice - After an impressive 3rd season, Burn Notice is back for Season 4! While USA shows are generally light and Burn Notice can get a little too formulaic, I was impressed by last season's more intense character plot leaving us with a pretty sweet cliffhanger making me surprised to be so excited to sit down with the Season 4 premiere screener tonight! More preview to come before the Thursday premiere, just you wait, Burn Notice fanatics! Royal Pains - This one falls on the lighter, very character-focused side of the USA dramas, but while it could have a stronger plot, there was something just so friendly and fun about this group of characters in its first season last summer that I was hooked like many a new Hank Med fan. I'm looking forward to kicking off a new season of Hamptons fun, light drama, and even a little plot development (gasp!) as this one gets underway this Thursday right after Burn Notice. I won't spoil anything, but having gotten a sneak peek at the premiere episode, I will tell you fans that the big Lawson daddy drama we were left hanging on last summer certainly heats up right away! Also don't forget to enter our Season 2 giveaway: Enter SideReel's Royal Pains Giveaway For A Chance To Win A Summer Prize Pack ($125 Value)! Drop Dead Diva - Sure, I'm a sucker for the occasional Lifetime Television movie, but I was very pleasantly surprised by their quirky and cute new show last summer, Drop Dead Diva. It started out pretty light and silly, but as it progressed, it actually became a good show with characters I really cared about seeing develop. I'm excited to see what direction our diva will be going this summer and this girly dramedy will certainly tide me over until all of my usuals return in the fall! What I'm Horrified by This Week on TV: While I find a good amount of reality TV train wrecks I can't help but watch - note my continued draw back to The Hills - when it comes to shows like Toddlers and Tiaras , the TLC reality horror show premiering its 3rd season this week, well, I find it to be more tragic than addictive on the reality TV scale. I'm not going to judge anyone who finds this show fascinating, but I am going to judge those featured on this show. I can't watch MTV 's 16 and Pregnant because I hate seeing teens and babies' lives getting ruined in too real and depressing of a way, so this one falls right in there with that train wreck I can't stand. I just can't understand beauty pageants for anyone younger than fully comprehending adults (if even), but to shove little kids who are just learning what this world is all about into a space where looks, makeup, fake-and-bake, and hairspray, aka altering yourself to please others is key... call me crazy, but I don't feel like that's the best of influences on them. As much as parents may defend with reasoning like gaining self confidence, by being shoved on a stage not looking like or really acting like themselves, I just can't handle it. But hey, I guess reality TV never claimed to be good for anyone. What are you looking forward to or horrified by on TV this week? Summer Marathon Madness! While there's a lot of great summer TV, for those of us who don't live in places with real summer weather, there's still plenty of time to dedicate to more TV! Since I recently caught up on Rescue Me marathon-style, I'm going to return to a few awesome shows I temporarily dropped during this busy TV season: Dexter and Friday Night Lights ! I recently started up on Dexter again after watching the first two seasons last summer, and now I'm already digging into Season 4 after a quick run through Season 3! As those of you know who've watched this show, it's a killer addiction (I know, I know) and if you have a rainy, chilly, or otherwise free day or weekend this summer, I highly recommend powering through any or all of these seasons as it's nearly impossible to step away from the TV (or computer) after just one episode. I'll be spending some time getting to know the thrills and chills of the Trinity Killer, then I'll be impatiently awaiting the new season coming this September! As for Friday Night Lights , I got very hooked on this one after SideReel's RachelL finally convinced me it wasn't really all about football, but then I dropped it for a while after not loving a particular Landry and Tyra plotline in Season 2. Now I've worked my way through the rest of Season 2 and am loving the 3rd season so far. So for any of you who may have given up on FNL along the way, this is a great marathon show definitely worthy of your SideReel summer must-watch list, and I promise it gets better again if you were like me and not loving the start of Season 2.
