VIDEO: Tension on 'The Apprentice' Heats Up

If you are not watching this current season of The Apprentice (and ratings are proving you aren't) you are missing out on some pure reality TV gold. The show is back to its original glory and it is a shame that not enough people are tuning in. It's hard to remember that at one time, The Apprentice was one of the big-dog reality competition shows. The best part about The Apprentice has always been the candidates, and this season is no exception. We are only two episodes in and The Apprentice has itself a true diva. And no, I'm not talking about Donald Trump. The narrative NBC has been trying to sell of good hard working people who've fallen on difficult times is beginning to fade. The contestants true selves are emerging, they are out for blood, and the show is all the better because of it. In this week's upcoming episode the teams are asked to run a hotel for dogs. The task seems simple enough, but nothing is ever easy when groups of Type A personalities are involved. In a preview for this week's episode we get a taste of what we all saw coming. It appears David, the father of five from Michigan, has done lost his mind. Something bad must happen that gets David benched for the rest of the task. From what I can tell he is ticked off and plans to sabotage his team. To Read More Click Here .

'The Apprentice' logs its lowest-rated telecast ever

This won't go over well with The Donald: Despite airing against repeats on CBS, ABC and Fox, the return of The Apprentice on Thursday logged its lowest-rated telecast ever among adults 18-49 (1.5 rating/5 share) and only averaged 4.7 million viewers, according to fast national results from Nielsen. The show dropped 53% from its Celebrity Edition last spring in the key demographic and 63% from its last non-celebrity premiere on Jan. 1, 2007. It was also down 29% from its previous all-time franchise low in the fall 2005. Last night's premiere was also down 44% from the Thursday debut of The Jay Leno Show on Sept. 17, 2009. NBC attempted to take the glass half-full approach when looking at the reality show's performance. It did rank No. 2 in the time slot among men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 and grew 14 percent from its first half-hour to its fourth among adults 18-49. It also was the No. 2 ranked show among adults 18-34 and women 18-34 in the second hour. Overall, CBS won the night in viewers (7.94 million), followed by ABC (5.75 million), NBC (4.28 million) and Fox (2.44 million). On the CW, meanwhile, the second week of Nikita built on its lead-in from The Vampire Diaries in viewers (3.35 million versus 3.04 million). Source Here

America Goes Back to Work on The Apprentice

As NBC's The Apprentice enters its 10th season, Donald Trump is putting celebrities aside and once again opening up the toughest job interview in the world to regular people. But this season, The Donald hand-picked the batch of 16 contestants based on one particular requirement: people affected by the recession. "We wanted to go back to the original because of what's happening in the economy," Trump told TV Guide Magazine at the Paley Center for Media's Apprentice panel on September 13. "Now we have people with great ambition, but they got zapped [from their jobs] and got really hurt." But even though Trump is working with contestants who are down on their luck, he says he won't be much softer in the boardroom. "At the beginning I sat down with them and said, 'Look, you're in trouble, but let's be tough, let's be smart and let's be fair.' These people are very inspirational, but some just cannot take the pressure coupled with what they've already been through." Trump's daughter and fellow board member Ivanka says that after critiquing celebrities for the past two seasons, she's glad to be able to connect with the general public again. "I tend to be pretty honest, celebrity or not," Ivanka says. "As a young person, it's hard for me to be too aggressive with people who have accomplished so much. I don't think I'm intimidated by them, but I'm definitely deferential to people that I have a tremendous respect for." Trump says we can expect another celebrity season in the spring. The Apprentice premieres tonight at 9/8c on NBC. Source Here
