'The L.A. Complex' Benjamin Charles Watson - Tariq will return

"The L.A. Complex" star Andra Fuller already hinted at the struggle for his closeted rapper character Kaldrick King during Season 2, but what of Tariq, his battered boyfriend? Benjamin Charles Watson tells Zap2it that although we saw Tariq leave Los Angeles in the premiere, he's not gone for good."I'll be back. That's just how it goes, especially when you have an ensemble cast like this," he explains. "Everyone has to have their story time."While Season 1 mostly focused on Tariq's journey as he tried to make it in the music industry (and found love instead), Season 2 will focus on Kal's private struggle to come to terms with his sexuality -- a topic that seems extra important in the wake of singer Frank Ocean coming out of the closet in early July."You need to watch because it's an important story that hasn't been told yet," Watson says of the Tariq-less episodes. "Especially with Frank Ocean... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/07/the-la-complex-benjamin-charles-watson-tariq-will-return.html

The Lux gets a new resident. Hey, with [spoiler] gone there's an occupancy in the building, but this newbie probably won't be down with all... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/07/the-la-complex-season-2-premiere-5-things-to-expect.html

'The L.A. Complex' star Andra Fuller on Kaldrick King's next move

The fallout from Kal and Tariq's devastating fight -- if you can call it that -- is only beginning when "The L.A. Complex" returns to The CW for Season 2 on Tuesday, July 17 at 9 p.m. Star Andra Fuller tells Zap2it that his character, the volatile and closeted rapper Kaldrick King who beat up his boyfriend when someone walked in on them kissing, will not deal with the situation very well."Kal is in a hole. He's in a very dark place," Fuller says. "He just physically abused the one person he can trust, the one person he can confide in -- the person he had true feelings for. He's in a very depressed state of mind."Although Kal returns to work right after the devastating incident, Fuller says that's not necessarily the best for his character. "He's being forced back into the studio. And when somebody goes through a traumatic experience like he's just been... http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/07/the-la-complex-star-andra-fuller-on-kaldrick-kings-next-move.html

Complex: Abby's Big Chance.  Despite making the decision to head back to Toronto in the season 1 finale, Abby decided to stay in Los Angeles when she got a call about booking a small movie gig.  "It’s a small, two-line part in a movie.  But it’s a job," Martin explains.  "That one doesn’t go as planned.  Alan Thicke is joining the show for a bunch of episodes.  He’ll be playing this character named Donald who is the star and executive producer of a 7th Heaven-type television show that Abby may or may not have a small part on.  We’ll see her adventures in the world while she dabbles with success." The first season of The L.A. Complex only lasted six episodes, but the show will be returning for a longer second season in both Canada and the U.S. on July 17.  Quite a few cliffhangers took place in the season 1 finale, including Raquel's discovery that she is pregnant (guess who the father is!) and Kaldrick's terrible beating of Tariq in order to protect his reputation and hide their relationship.  Plus, Abby decided to remain in L.A. instead of giving up acting and heading back to Toronto when she finally scored a job. When season 2 premieres, Alan Thicke will be joining the cast in a recurring role as a producer who works with Abby and we'll also be introduced to a few new characters, including two siblings who move into The Lux.  Here's how The CW describes the season 2 premiere: "After the beating he gave Tariq (Benjamin Charles Watson), Kaldrick (Andra Fuller) sets out to make things right, only to find that Tariq has gone into hiding. Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the fire, Connor (Jonathan Patrick Moore) is eager to drown his sorrows and turns to Raquel (Jewel Staite) for comfort. But Raquel has her own issues as she faces life-changing news. Back at The Lux, Nick (Joe Dinisol) and Abby (Cassie Steele) take their relationship to the next level."
