Ratings - 'Parenthood,' 'Melrose' drop

NBC's Parenthood took a knock in Week 2, dropping 16% and slipping into second place in the 10 p.m. hour.

"Parenthood" (6.1 million, 2.6 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) fell 13% from its "Biggest Loser" (7.9 million, 3.0) lead-in to rank as the night's second lowest-rated drama on a major broadcast network behind the presumed series finale of The Forgotten (TV) (4.9 million, 1.5).

Fox won the night with American Idol (22.6 million, 8.2) slipping slightly this week with the Top 8 girls competing. CBS placed second with "NCIS" (19.5 million, 3.8) down a couple notches, but "NCIS: L.A." (16.9 million, 3.5) and "The Good Wife" (13.9 million, 2.8) rising a bit. NBC ranked third. ABC was fourth with Lost (9.5 million, 4.2) up a tick and winning 9 p.m.

On the CW, 90210 (1.7 million, 0.8) and "Melrose Place" (1.2 million, 0.5) returned for their first originals since Dec. 8, with "90210" low and "Melrose" in the tank.
