5 Reasons We Love Watching: 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt'

If you've watched more than five minutes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and don't like it, there's no hope for you. You probably hate puppies and love white chocolate. You surely disdain the ocean and delight in airplane turbulence. You likely listen to smooth jazz while snacking on kale chips. Because this show is everything. The wit of Tina Fey combined with the exuberance of Ellie Kemper, the impeccable comedic timing of Jane Krakowski, and the flamboyance of Tituss Burgess have created a worthy successor to 30 Rock. Here are five reasons to check out Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, streaming now on Netflix.

3. Like 30 Rock, the series balances a crazy joke-per-minute rate with sophisticated takes on complicated issues, including race.

2. Speaking of the opening: As noted by SideReel contributor Davis, the intro includes the same stock footage as The Americans: a clip of a little girl happily hula-hooping. Which leads us to believe there's some sort of connection. Is Kimmy's biological father a Russian spy? Is that church group of Paige's connected to Rev. Richard Wayne Gary Wayne? We need answers!

1. Has there ever been a more GIFable show?
