The Fosters

I LOVE this show!!!
Every week you are left hooked are wanting for more. The storyline that these incredible writers come up with episode after episode is simply outstanding to say the least. The show is always so captivating, fresh, new, adaptive and intriguing; I mean it just makes you feel so much in just one simple hour.
They make you believe that you are part of the family; so inclusive! Over the past two seasons you are lead to fall in love and have a strong emotional connection with every single character. They are so different and diverse yet LOVE is the unifying bound that brings them all together. Weather you have grown in family with siblings or as a lone child; this programme depicts the pinnacle of what never-ending love within a family should be. It is also important to note that a family doesn’t have to be 4 or more strong; a family can be between two people or even just yourself.
The show includes all and is not scared to break through the boundaries and barriers that are put up by simple mined people who things that if beings who you are doesn’t fit with their agenda, then that a sin or something to be ashamed of. The show continues to explore new situations and scenarios that have long been tossed aside by others. I believe the world was ready for a series like this; people have been supressed for far too long thinking that there is something wrong with being who they are and liking who they want.
Don’t even get me started about JONNOR.
JONNOR is a first in television history, in terms of the love they have shown for each other and the fact that they KISSED!! (OMG). I am so glad to be a part of such a dynamic show, (even though am sitting on my couch), that has tough me so much and has made feel so much more comfortable with who I am.
*** 2 MORE SEASONS AT LEAST PLEASE ***

Empire

#TeamCookie This show is definitely captivating. The drama, the music, the actors/actresses just all make for one heck of a show. It touches on so many issues we deal with in today's society and brings them to the forefront: Bi-polar disorder, ALS, sexuality, dysfunctional families, following your dreams, standing up for yourself/confidence, being able to move beyond your circumstances and so many other things. I am especially happy to see these things being touched on so that it can open the dialog to deal with these issues, especially in the Black community. Taraji's character illustrates a mother's love and how she will do anything even sacrifice her freedom to ensure her family will escape the perils of poverty and life in the slums. Terrance's character shows how money can change you and when you loose yourself in the process you also loose so much more. A man that choose his dream over love and now regrets it while living in two worlds his old and his new. I could go on and on, but I urge you to tune in and see it for yourself. It's a new spin on a classic life story.
