Love movies and TV shows, especially good comedy and science fiction, but also drama, crime and some fantasy. Also a few documentaries and reality TV.

Fresh Off The Boat

Hilarious sitcom about an Asian-American family living in 1990's America, mixing good comedy with 90s nostalgia. Love this show!

Terminator S.C.C. takes place directly after the events of Terminator 2. John Connor and his mother Sarah are still on the run from the machines. The series deepens the backgrounds, brings lots of details about the machines and the war in the future and poses lots of interesting questions about AI, humanity, time travel and other themes.
The performances are all fantastic, from Lena Headey to Garett Dillahunt, it's a strong cast.

All in all this series is a must-watch not only for Terminator fans. Tension, action, drama and devilish machines are guaranteed.

Personally I suggest you forget that T3 and T4 ever existed and see this as the sequel after T2.
It is a crying shame that this got canceled, the first 2 seasons are definitely worth watching though!

Get Shorty

I like everything about Get Shorty, the plot , the writing, the actors, the music and editing, it's great. Chris O'Dowd is a treasure as always and Lidia Porto is terrifying as cartel boss Amara. The story moves along nicely, the humorous and more thrilling parts are well balanced, It's all very entertaining. I'm happy this got picked up for a second season.

Disjointed

Tired jokes, old tropes and stereotypes. I get the impression nobody involved in this production ever even smoked a joint. And don't even get me started on the laugh track.

Stan Against Evil

I really want to like this show, and I kinda do, but Stan Against Evil has the misfortune to exist in the same universe as Ash Vs Evil Dead, which is better in pretty much every way and makes this show's flaws stand out even more. Still worth a watch though!

The Good Place

Kristen Bell plays a shallow and unlikable character who dies and goes to the Good Place, where she must redeem herself, or else. The whole look and feel reminds me very much of Pushing Daisies - the saturated colours, the segues into absurdity, even the life-after-death motifs. And that's not a bad thing. Ted Danson gets to put aside some of the gravitas that he had to bring to CSI, and return to his successful comedic abilities a la Cheers.

Another Period

This very silly show imagines Downton Abbey with the classy upper classes replaced by blithering idiots. The show is funniest in the way these rich people treat their servants, which is as considerably less than human, as when a servant is whimsically renamed "Chair" by one of her employers. The wealthy are idle and clueless, and the show loves to push the bounds of decency, with characters being horribly racist and crude humor that often cheerfully crosses over the line, as in an episode that mocks rape.

It gets away with this because it knows what it's doing. Underneath the silly, broad comedy, is a fairly sharp satire of class privilege. That combination of cheap jokes and smart comedy is, for me, irresistible.

This is an awesome show that was impeccably cast, written, directed and produced. You, Me and the Apocalypse has a sublime blend of all that makes a program great. I found myself quite emotionally taken with the character development, and there is great, subtle humor and even some quite suspenseful scenes.

The Shannara Chronicles is chock-full of spectacle. The sets are detailed and immense, the characters are intriguing, and the CGI is magnificent without being overbearing. The two standouts for me are Allanon and the Dagda Mor. Manu Bennett conveys just the right amount of power and mystery. The Dagda Mor could be one of the coolest villains I've seen in a while. Another surprising treat is the music.
However, as this is an MTV series, it is VERY geared toward the young adult audience, and you can see elements of Twilight all over it.

Versailles

In 1667, 28-year-old all-powerful king of France, Louis XIV, decides to build the greatest palace in the world - Versailles. But drained budget, affairs and political intrigues complicate things.
Nice period drama with great casting, shot on location at Versailles.
