Yay! I finally got Follow buttons for people! Downlaoding Opera seemed to be best for this site. Odd choice really.

Update: What happened? Season 1 was fun and different. Season 2 is the same plot. This show is too boring now. I dropped it a star and I'm dropping it from my tracking list.

Original Review: Fun show that starts off really strong and gets a little off the last few episodes. But the cast is excellent and most of the guest appearances are really fun.

Excellent show. So many moving stories weaved together. They chose the cast well. So many great performances and not a single weak link.

I wish I could get a hold of the original series it was based on.

It's ok. Most of the debate about the accuracy of the show seems to miss that it is based on a legendary character rather than a historical one. It would have been better for this have aired on a channel that was not called "the History Channel".

It suffers the same problem as GoT in that there are a lot of dirty hairy white dudes who are hard to distinguish from one another.

Gustaf Skarsgard is fun to watch.

This is one of the best of Shondaland. Loosely based on the real life crisis manager Judy Smith. I recommend her book "Good Self, Bad Self".

Kerry Washington is a brilliant actress who finally got a role that highlights her skills. It is a dynamic character with great outfits. Though I often want to smack some sense into her I always admire the brains and skills she uses to get out of some intensely difficult situations.

The team is complicated and twisted. The cast brings together some of the best TV actors including many of the Shondaland favorites. It is suspenseful and dark.

This is a fast paced show. Not something you want to watch just to relax.

UPDATE: This was a great show. It seriously went downhill in Season 4. I decided to give Season 5 a chance to redeem itself and now it's nothing but a silly soap opera.

I have a confession to make. I have never seen Psycho. I keep meaning to but every time I go pick up movies I wind up finding new ones I want to watch. However, this means I'm not biased by the inevitable movie comparisons.

This show is good. Well written and creepy. They do the violence in a way that makes it horribly clear as to what happened without actually showing much. That takes good acting and good directing.

Freddie Highmore manages to be sympathetic and creepy which can be difficult to balance. Despite knowing where he is heading I can't help hoping for him to turn it around.

Vera Farmiga is really impressive as well. It doesn't take long to why she has been nominated for this role for quite a few awards.

Also, bonus points for Nestor Carbonell and those gorgeous eyes.

I hope it continues for a long time without jumping the shark.

Garfunkel and Oates

I like Garfunkel and Oates songs. They are a funny duo. Unfortunately, the show didn't work for me. Subjecting the audience to Natasha Laggero is always a bad idea. Everything on the episodes I tried just seemed to forced.

This show is so fun. Kimmy is played by the super adorable Ellie Kemper. Despite having gone through a horrible experience she remains bubbly, optimistic, and unbreakable. She is a delight to watch.

Also, Carol Kane! Such a classic comedy actress. Nice to have her as a regular.

Tituss Burgess is a fabulous. He is funny and a great singer.

And then there is the hot Dong. Sure the name was used to get in a lot of cheap laughs (and Dong is more frequently a girl's name) but Ki Hong Lee is funny and charming and so very hot.

The A-Team

I can't help but love this show. Dwight Schultz is a such a brilliant character actor; his HM Murdoch makes the show.

This show is pretty ridiculous in many ways with some silly story lines, over the top explosions, and occasionally bad acting. But the one liners are often priceless especially some of the Murdoch rants.

The guest appearance by Culture Club including Boy George kicking down a door to help Murdoch (who is the one in the dress) save the team is one of my all time favourite 80s TV moments.

Also, in the season 4 finale they bring in Tia Carrere who pretty much kicks their asses initially. The original plan was to make her a regular for season 5 which fell through. Season 5 really sucks and isn't even worth watching as a "So Bad It's Funny" thing. But the episode with Carrere is fun.

This was a mix of talented actors, great guests and lazy writing. And it has Betty White - one if the great comedy actors of all time. Her performance on SNL showed she still has the timing, I really wanted to like it more but the show is formulaic, the characters cheap stereotypes, the story lines stale, and the misogyny tiresome. Older women, who are often neglected by Hollywood, deserve better.

Dexter

This show took some terrible books with a great concept and made them interesting stories. The characters in the TV show are more fully developed. (In the book only Dexter is more than one dimensional).

Jennifer Carpenter's Debra is hilarious and moving. She did a good job of playing her foul mouth in a way that added colour to her character without making her too off putting. She was believably tough and believably vulnerable. I never felt angry at her character for protecting her brother when she learned his secret.

Michael C. Hall actually manages to make a serial killer someone you are rooting for. Almost until the end.
