I only started to watch American Housewife because Mike & Molly had concluded but I still wanted my Katy Mixon fix - I'm so glad that I did.
The series follows the life of Katy Otto, the second fattest woman in Westport. She is married to Gregg, a university professor and has three children; Their eldest is Taylor, a sporty teenage girl who just wants to fit in with her peers. Oliver is their middle child, he is sarcastic and savvy and wants nothing more than to prove to the rich people of Westport that he is one of them and then there's Kay's favourite, Anna-Kat, sweet and innocent with one "flaw", she has OCD.
I think that after playing the main stars sister in Mike & Molly, a show that evolves around an over weight couple, that Katy Mixon is by far the best person to play this role - she has several years experience on a show with a similar storyline - and she is doing it proud.
She is a wife, a mother and a friend who is just trying to stand out among the wealthy, pretentious, skinny housewives and their privileged children after moving to her new hometown of Westport, Connecticut in order to get better schooling for her children.
It's a show you can relate to that will have you laughing every week. I can't wait for Season 2!
I always felt that Cougar Town could have been a brilliant way to carry on Friends.. Them all living in a cul-de-sac in the suburbs, raising their families and dealing with the fact that they are no longer 20 somethings living in apartments in New York.
Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston all guest starred which gave me a little glimpse of that Friends feel I was craving.
Either way, without the friends aspect I honestly did love this show. Cougar Town follows a group of 7 people who live in the same cul-de-sac (or at least hang out there drinking wine every day!) in Florida. Its funny and is another show that shows that love has no boundaries and that you don't have to be related to truly be a family.
I really enjoyed it, it was the first show I watched staring one of the Friends cast after it ended and I therefore had high hopes, this show definitely lived up to them!
This all star show centers around the lives of three mothers; Madeline, Celeste and Jane. In the first episode you hear of a murder but the audience does not find out who was murdered who the murder was until the last episode.
I thought this show as pretty good, though I thought that the story seemed to move along quite slowly (this may just be me). I was quite disappointed that all of the shocking drama happened in the final episode, leaving me wanting more, after a fairly slow journey getting there. Overall it was a good show with great cast and I would recommend watching.
The Fosters is about love having no boundaries, about family being stronger than blood and about the complications that come with having 5 teenagers living under one roof.
The show follows the Adams-Foster family; Steph, her wife Lena, Steph's son from a previous marriage Brandon, their two adopted children Jesus and Mariana and their two foster children Callie and Jude.
There is so much love and drama in this show, I can't help but coming back to watch week in and week out - it really is great.
Finding Carter follows a teenage girl named Carter Stevens who after a run in with the police learns that she isn't named Carter at all, her name is Lyndon Wilson and she was abducted as a toddler. Returning to her biological family who initially she can find no connection with, Carter can't help but want to return to her "Mother Lori, the woman who brought her up but also the woman who abducted her.
Both seasons of this were brilliant, I was rather gutted that it was cancelled as I felt it had a lot more story to tell!
The Family follows the Warren family and their recently returned son, Adam. Adam was presumed dead after disappearing 10 years earlier, but it turned out that he was kidnapped along with another boy and held in an underground bunker for a decade.
I thought this show had huge potential when I first read about it, but was a little unsure when I actually started to watch.. The second half of the season soon drew me in however and I began wanting more.. The ending majorly disappointed me though, WHY end it with that phone call really? I want to see what happens next!! I hope that they can revisit this show at some point in the future as it really does have potential.

Faking It centers around the lives of two high school best friends Karma and Amy who just want to be popular. When a gay classmate mistakes them for a couple and decides to "out" them, they begin to get all of the attention and popularity that they craved. The only way the girls see themselves keeping this status is to fake being a couple, but unfortunately it turns out that one of the friends isn't faking it after all..
Honestly this is the kind of show I wished they had when I was growing up, it deals with the confusing moment you realise you have feelings for someone who's the same gender as you - something that up until recently, people had to figure out on their own. TV shows like this are a blessing, not only are they fun to watch but they deal with issues that LGBT teens need them to deal with, subjects that some people they feel that they cannot openly talk about with their families or friends - shows like this will help them see that it will all be OK.
Although I knew it was never going to happen, the romantic in me hoped right up until the very end that Amy and Karma would end up together, I was a little bit gutted they didn't lol.
I wish they had made more episodes!

Early Edition is yet another brilliant show set in Chicago! It follows the "adventures" of Gary Hobson, a stockbroker who mysteriously begins to receive The Chicago Sun-Times.. The day before it is published. Gary soon realises that with this gift he can stop the horrible accidents he reads about every day from occurring in the first place.
Another show that I watched nearly 20 years after it aired, but I'm so glad that I did. I loved it!
I first watched this show over 20 years after it ended, I wanted to see what else Neil Patrick Harris was in before his How I Met Your Mother days - and I'm so glad that I did.
Doogie Howser, M.D follows the life of Doogie, a child genius who at age 14 is the youngest practicing Doctor in the country (and I'm guessing the world). Doogie seeks acceptance by both others his own age and his older colleagues. Each episode ends with Doogie making an entry in his computerised journal, making observations about what he has dealt with in each episode and what he has learned.
I still enjoyed it over 20 years later and think its definitely worth watching.
Desperate Housewives follows the lives of a group of women who live on Wisteria Lane, in the fictional town of Fairview. The show is narrated by their friend and neighbour, Mary Alice Young, who committed suicide in the first episode. Each season evolves around a new mystery, but still focuses largely on the personal lives of the women of Wisteria Lane. With story lines such as suicide, murder, arson, adultery and revenge - what more could you ask for from a TV show?
I loved every minute of this show and would love to see a reboot (or film!) in the works somewhere down the line!
