i looooove tv series.... kind of an addiction.... but well... i don't have anything else to do xD
this show apparently wants to be a true detective 80's version. but it is not gripping at all. the characters are flat and the story drags.
it is nice though that from the beginning the viewer is not limited to the police's or victim's point of view but sees what exactly the highly charaismatic killer is up to. ed westwick does a great job at that.
the cops however seem like they want to be on another show altogether and do not appear motivated at all being sidetracked by their own missconceptions and problems...
the only other highlight are the great 80's tunes that together with the ridiculous outfits creat a proper 80's vibe
a socially awkward yound woman without the ability to grasp the concept of time stumbles into the lap of a secret government agancy and becomes their new secret weapon as thanks to lack of understanding of time she is the perfect candidate to enter the last memories of recently deceased people and helps fighting crime in the process.
sounds like your average crime fighting sience fiction show but actually involves loveable characters that grow through their challenges and become a team and friends. all the while there is some deeper secret hinted at underneath the whole programme that is somehow connected with the main character.
oh and there is love in the air in manifold ways. check #camsten for more infos on social media ;)
presonally I like the show because if the characters and their personal growth. the crime fighting is the same as usual and follows the same patters. but the main characters' quirks and such make it a show that has a special place in my heart
I always loved Shin-Chan. It is rude witha lot of dirty jokes that are completely inappropriate for the 5 year old main character. but it is so over the top that it is actually quite brilliant.
I love this show.
a great show. unlike other netflix shows it already starts with a lot of action and does not got through the typical build up process. but still it gets more and more gripping the further the show advances throughout the season
it features great characters with relationships that develop through the course of the season. it is great to see characters grow and relationships alter. all set before the backdrop of a well-known marvel hero played by the brilliant charlie cox.
this show has it all. friendship, love, action and mistery.
the first season is especially noteworthy for the brilliant performance of vincent d'onofrio as fisk who thoughout the course of the show starts to show his true colours and completely goes off the rails. all the while being a worthy adversary for /matt murdock who grows from vigilanty to daredevil.
a great show. a must watch. not just for marvel fans. but those will appreciate the small nods towards the movie mcu
I cannot express my love for this show enough. It got me hooked from episode one.
it is a great coming of age sort of thing with teenage drama. Additionally to that it deals with mental health issues. throw in some friendship issues, love and a great sound track (this show is taking place in the mid-90's) and you got a great british tv show that creates suspense and really loveable characters. they are all unique and in my humble non-british opinion very british.
I know I am repeating myself but I love love love this show.
It would get more than 5 stars if that were possible.
Netflix always takes its time to build suspense in their shows. exactly as they did with this one. but at some point towards the middle of season 1 it became so gripping I could not stop watching.
the twisted ways of both courts, the martial arts and the young italian who tries to find his way and survive life at the khan's court.
it is amazing. all the actors play their parts extremely well. they are all a great fit.
we see how marco polo grows with his challenges and how the khan starts loosing grip while alliances change and shift. it is great.
it is also shot in a great way. the fighting scenes, no matter whether one on one martial arts or huge battle scenes with the mongols and chinese, are a feaast to watch.
cannot wait for series 2
it took me a while to get into this show but about half a season in a got addicted. the way those characters are connected and interact with each other is just really well created.
the story kept me on the edge of my seat all the time during the last couple of episodes. so tense. and you really get to love those characters and feel for them. it is well done.
some scenes are a unnecessarily graphic but they are short so I don't mind that much.
I think the show's concept is quite new and refreshing. there are no aliens involved and behind all this which is great.
you get an international cast who plays there roles quite well and you want to know how things will work out for everyone of those people. it is simply a joy to watch
this is an amazing period drama with a great cast. it is dark and dirty and violent but not as bloody as you would imagine. it is shot beautifully and the music is rather modern but a perfect fit. every episode has me on the edge of my seat. it is addictive.
great story about a friendship between mother and daughter. its evolution through growing up (regarding daughter AND mother) and the personal growth of each. intersected with lovely side plots and great supporting characters that make this mother-daughter-team even more lovable
a quirky story about friendship. I did not like it at first but it is nice for something short to watch just before bed. the characters kind of get to you.
