I rarely meet a show I don't track... :D I have lists galore as I love all genres of tv, but, hey, it means I never run out of shows! I've found even more shows to watch through some amazing sidereelers' lists! Starting conversations with lists is one of my favorite things about sidereel. I love how we can all love or hate a show yet still have a friendly chat. You'll find me dashing around the site, leaving friendly comments on reviews, shows, lists and articles. <3
The first season is okay, the second season is great and from then on it is outstanding! LOVE this show.
Spooks, you are missed, from Matthew McFadyen as Tom Quinn through to Richard Armitage as Lucas North, this show never failed to keep me on the edge of my seat.
It was one of the first shows in the UK to do short runs, 6-10 episodes and it was nail-bitingly relevant. the actors talked about filming scenes and then reading, two weeks' later in the newspaper about a horrifyingly similar incident.
I think, apart from Harry, et al, that's what was so incredibly gripping about Spooks, you never knew what you were in for - except for the fact that it would be a wild ride and relevant to our times. Strong female characters were always in every episode, usually running the team ( Jo!!!).
All of this done under the watchful eye of Harry, the big boss - I really liked his character.
Am currently watching reruns...even though I own the box set of dvd's.
One to watch, it never gets old.
Enjoyed the UK version, must try this one out.
Silly, sweet and fun, nothing to get too panicky over as everything will always end up okay. Not quite a 'meh' but not far off. Watchable but not half as intriguing as it thinks it is. I'm midway through season 3 and have been for a year or more, so I think that says it all.
Mark Harmon, need I say more. I apologise for being shallow but those eyes, that smile, that great acting...Not an exceptionally well written show but he did his best with what he was given.
I find it annoying and predictable. It's set in another world and that would be okay if they didn't pretend to be a normal(ish) family. I know Lowe is good looking but good grief, he's not *that* good looking or spellbinding. Once Upon a Time is deliberately set in another dimension, this isn't far behind, and it ain't intentional. Epic Fail.
Standoff, how I loved you. Even though my provider showed the episodes in all the wrong order (never a good sign)! The chemistry between the leads was palpable and led to marriage IRL!!!! Yay! Some of the episodes were really great, especially the opening scene of the pilot, others slightly missed the mark. Overall, still one of my favorite shows, evah!!! *makes placard 'Bring back Standoff* - nah, the leads have gone on to better and bigger roles in movies and tv, I doubt they'd go back. :)
ETA: No Spoilers. Watched Season 4. At last, HOC has embraced the fact that they do not exist in the real political world. Total soap opera. I've never loathed character's so much yet been so annoyed at a season ending and having to say goodbye to them for another year. That says a lot about Penn and Spacey, they're excellent, everyone is great, it's wonderful to see Neve Campbell in a good role. But, as far as the plot (what plot, jut throw everything and the kitchen sink in there!?!) goes, it's just all a bit, meh. For next season, I think I'll take up knitting to save me from fidgeting every time I watch an episode. At least knitting will give me something to concentrate on. My delighted review below was b4 I watched season 4. Knocking 2 stars off the review.
LOVE HOC. Kevin Spacey's delivery is deliciously evil... I thought last season was a bit hit and miss so let's all hope the showrunners have brought together a whole load of surprises for us. Binge watching or keeping myself to just one ep per day, decisions, decisions... :)
I watched this because of Jamie Lee Curtis. Possibly the worst show ever, it's so awful. The acting, plot, dialogue is over the top, ludicrous and formulaic. Nothing new (or even vaguely intersting to see her), spend your time, IMHO, on a decent show, not this rubbish.
Oh, how I wanted to be married to Michael (Ken Olin)!!!! I was a teen, they were *old* and I wanted to grow up to be them! Loved this show but it did run its course and ended (to me) more with a whimper than a bang. But some of it was so real. Loved it!
Just watching the first couple of episodes - I'm a bit late! Enjoying it, will keep watching - and probably add a couple more stars to my rating over time.
