American Odyssey

An overseas Military conspiracy that drives various forces into action to uncover the truth.

Right off the bat with the premise you already know what the conspiracy is, you just don't know the who or the why. Once you find this out... there's nothing left to do and unfortunately neither the characters nor the writing make me really want to find out the who or why. On one hand we have a betrayed American soldier, Odelle Ballard fighting for her life in the middle east trying to survive. Back in the states we have a government protester, a corporate lawyer, and a mysterious woman who are on the path of uncovering why Odelle and her unit were betrayed by the military.

American Odyssey can't go anywhere and will never reach a level of brilliance. That being said, it's not terrible.

Schitt's Creek

(Pilot review)

Watched the pilot of Schitt's Creek last night per a friend's recommendation. Won't be watching the rest of the season.

Show is your standard situational sitcom where none of the characters themselves are funny people, they are just, in this case, unrealistic stupid people put into awkward situations with more unrealistic people. I don't think I laughed once the whole episode.

That being said -- I personally am not a fan of situational humor, but obviously many people are based on the sheer number of sitcoms. If you know what you like and this sounds like it, go for it. Otherwatch, take me for my word and watch One Big Happy instead.

Veep

Season 4 starts off with a Bang. Hysterical. In tears the whole episode.

Veep is still the best comedy on air. There truly is no other show like it.

I have to wonder if the show still maintains its humor in other languages, because it really uses the full extent of the English language to bring forth its humor.

Fresh Off The Boat

Aptly named, "Fresh Off the Boat" is an extremely 'fresh' comedy. While it does to some degree follow the standard situational household family-arisen humor, it does so with an Asian family in Florida, fighting stereotypes, while also playing into them. It's smart, sarcastic, and very funny. It's also a quick and great binge watch. Highly recommended.

Though the art style is similar to less mature and somewhat annoying american cartoons, Gravity falls has truly fantastic dialogue that is fun for all ages. Some really witty, sarcastic humor. It's a great show. If you're a fan of Adventure Time, no matter what your age is, you should check this show out, yes, in spite of the stupid art style.
