I like it so far. I've seen the first 4 episodes. I am a Terry Brooks fan, though I have only really read the prequel novels. It is worth noting that the show creators did attempt to incorporate elements of the apocalypse from the prequels since it was not a literary direction Terry Brooks had decided on from the very beginning. I think they did a good job with it. As I understand it, this is an adaptation, not a direct retelling of the Elfstones of Shannara. The effects, costumes, design, and acting is very top notch. It does not feel like a low budget Xena Warrior type production at all. I'm surprised they spent so much money on the show. I'm also surprised that that this show is coming from MTV. Promotion and marketing for the show has been poor, so hopefully more people find out about it.
