Former American Idol Host Brian Dunkleman Accused of Abuse by Estranged Wife

Former American Idol host Brian Dunkleman has been accused of abuse by his estranged wife in a recent filing by Kaleas lawyers petitioning for a legal separation. According to the filing obtained by People , Kalea Dunkleman accuses TV personalityof emotional and physical abuse in the documents, calling him a danger to their three-year-old son, Jackson. Following the couples separation, Dunkleman moved to New York and obtained an emergency order that granted him sole custody.  Read More... //

Rickey Smith, American Idol Finalist, Killed in Car Crash (Report)

Rickey Smith, a Season 2 finalist on American Idol, died early Friday morning in a car crash just outside of Oklahoma City, TMZ reports. He was 36. According to KOCO 5 ,the crash occurred when a pickup truck traveling the wrong way on I-240 struck Smiths Honda Accord shortly after 3 a.m. Friday. Smith died in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck, 27-year-old Gerardo Cerda Jr., was hospitalized. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers detected the smell of alcohol on Cerda, KOCO reports. A spokesman for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol told TheWrap that officers are consulting with the district attorney to determine what kind of charges might be filed.   Read More... //

Core Media Group , the company behind American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance , has reportedly filed for Chapter 11 protection in Manhattan. Core was part of the joint venture which also combined Shine and Endemol to create Endemol Shine Group . However, Core continued to operate as a separate company with its own capital structure and was never integrated. "American Idol" runner-up La'Porsha Renae has angered fans after declaring that she "doesn't agree" with the LGBT "lifestyle" in a recent interview.
