Nicki Minaj lashes out at Mariah Carey: 'All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin?'

Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are feuding again. The "American Idol" judges are throwing fighting words at one another following last night's episode, with Minaj now taking the battle to Twitter and referencing the recent Jennifer Lopez-replacing Carey rumor. "All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that," Minaj tweets. The fight started when Carey was critiquing "Idol" competitor Angie Miller, who was performing Rihanna's "Diamonds." When Minaj interrupted her, Carey quipped to Miller, "Back to the Billboard Hot 100 number one song that you just performed -- which is difficult to get, and not everybody has that to their credit. To your credit, you did a great job." Watch the comment that started it all below: What do you think of Carey and Minaj's constant back-and-forth? Do you think Carey should be replaced?... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/05/nicki-minaj-lashes-out-at-mariah-carey-all-dem-1s-but-jlo-phone-ringin.html

'American Idol' interviews: Why were the Top 4 performances so emotional?

One of the most notable features about the second week of the "American Idol" Top 4 performances was the emotion. Each of the four remaining singers -- Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Angie Miller and Amber Holcomb -- showed more seriousness (and occasionally tears) throughout the night. What was going on? We asked the girls to explain right after the show.Amber was easily the most emotional of the four, crying openly during one of her judges' critiques. "Yes, I cried like a baby!" Amber told us. "I think it was just the pressure, it all hit me. Because, I mean, I'm constantly in the bottom, and I feel like when I do a good job I'm still on the bottom. This week, it just hit me -- the bad critiques and everything."In addition to her personal worries, Amber noted that the competition is getting fiercer in these last weeks before the finale. 'American Idol' Judges' Feud: Nicki Rips Mariah After Ratings Drop

As the ratings for "American Idol" fall, it seems, the animosity between "Idol" judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey increases. Minaj ripped open the scab on her feud with Carey on Thursday, referring to her television cohort as "insecure" and "bitter," after Carey tweaked Minaj over her lack of No. 1 singles on Wednesday night's "Idol." Should Harry Connick, Jr. be an 'American Idol' judge? The Top 4 singers weigh in

Very few musical mentors make as much of an impression as Harry Connick, Jr. did during the second week of Top 4 performances on "American Idol" Season 12. With his good advice, fun humor and willingness to take a seat at the table, should Connick be a judge on the next season of "Idol"?We asked the Top 4 singers -- Amber Holcomb, Angie Miller, Candice Glover and Kree Harrison -- what they thought about the idea. The responses were pretty much all positive.Amber: Should he? Yes. He's so funny. There should be five judges, and he should join the panel ... Yeah, he's super funny and super honest, so I don't see why not.Candice: My God, he is the most honest person I have ever met in my whole life, and he has such a dry sense of humor that you never know when he's kidding or being serious. He's really honest, so I... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/05/should-harry-connick-jr-be-an-american-idol-judge-the-top-4-singers-weigh-in.html

'American Idol' Top 4 Redux Predictions: Did Amber Holcomb Do Enough to Escape Elimination?

Harry Connick, Jr. stopped by to guest mentor the remaining four finalists, and he even sat in Keith Urban's chair and argued with Randy Jackson. (Please tell me Idol is considering him as a judge for season 13 -- he actually knows what he's talking about.) Unfortunately, most of the performances last night were just so-so. There were some stand-outs, though. Did Candice do enough to stay out of the Bottom 2? Did being in the pimp spot help Kree even though she ended the show on a low note? And is it inevitable that Amber Holcomb is going home? Let's run through all this as I make my latest American Idol predictions.
