'America's Next Top Model' Welcomes "Larger-than-life" Judge Andre Leon Talley

When one thinks of America's Next Top Model Cycle 14, we get flashes of new contestants, a new judge and New Zealand. But what Andre Leon Talley will not forget is the abundance of grass and drama. On an interview with E! Online, the newest personality to join Tyra at the judges' table has revealed a number of teasers for the upcoming season of the CW show. There's a lot to live up to as he takes over for Miss J, and he may just be the one fully capable of filling the void. "The girls love Andre," Tyra Banks told the publication. "He is a larger-than-life personality." Aside from that, the new judge also got a sweet, fatherly side to him. "In the first episode, one of the girls breaks down crying and André was actually the softest with her and, from behind a desk, figuratively hugged her and supported her when she was feeling extremely insecure," the America's Next Top Model host explained. When it comes to the competition though, Andre Leon Talley takes things seriously. "I can be nice and harsh," he declared. "Hard is not the word I would use. Harsh, nice, but not the hardest, no." That didn't stop him from getting involved in a huge battle among the girls though. Talley also butted heads with one of his fellow judges, even making them cry. America's Next Top Model photographer Nigel Barker wouldn't spill the beans, but dished a couple details about it. "Having André up there is kind of giving us more of that spunk to the show, because we're not up there as judges to get along," he said. "We're up there as judges, as experts in our own right and, I gotta say, there are a few head-to-head judging battles almost, where the judges get at it...And there were tears this season!" Nigel even told E! Online that Cycle 14 had gotten really enjoyable with Andre Leon Talley around. It isn't just the fact that he's bringing something new to Top Model, it's because he really is something fierce. Everyone knows how much Tyra wants that in her show. Source Here
