Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #12 Anime Review

With the end of the series, you know that it can go in a couple of different ways and that there are some that have better chances that others. The fun, as usual, is in watching how they actually get there to it. With Ichika’s people having come to get her and bring her back because of some f what’s involved with Earth and her own position, that has Ichika and Kaito on the run now, along with Rinon who helps them quite a lot in the early match up against them. While Remon was going to do her best to help at the start, after we learned she has a drivers license, she proved to not have what it takes to really help them in the short term. But there’s a lot of others helping them distract and get in the way so that the pair can try and get away. READ MORE...

Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #11 Anime Review

After spending some time dealing with the fallout from the revelation about who Ichika is and her origins, we had some nice down time for some of the cast, especially between Kaito and Ichika as they got all close and comfortable around each other. Some of the others are a bit stressed about their own situations, but they’re also starting to work through them which is definitely progress and something that needs to happen. A "no more" moment when it comes to relationships that will simply not happen. What throws a spanner in the works though is when Ichika’s older sister Emika arrives on planet, very happy that Ichika is safe after worries of her being injured, dead or something else. The problem comes in the form of the rules that their Federation has about interacting with planets like Earth and how it can cause problems, getting back to the original knowledge that she simply can’t stay there. Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #10 Anime Review

Kaito’s admission of feelings to Ichika before the final episode of the series, or saying it all within the show, was a welcome change of pace from how these kinds of shows usually go. Though there are dream-like elements to it, the reality is there and Kaito isn’t quite sure how to handle it as Ichika is now very affectionate and close when it comes to him, though not in a hugely groping bad way or anything. She’s simply softened up even more around him as the tension between them has eased away and she has no problems being physically close to him, such as sharing a blanket. It’s pretty nice to see that on her part but it’s also something that has Kaito not entirely sure how to react. READ MORE...

Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #09 Anime Review

With the way events played out at the end of the last episode, everything became revealed to Ichika’s friends about what she really is, though Kaito doesn’t say much to indicate that he already knew. For Ichika, she manages to stand out well in a really good way here with her outfit, giving her a different kind of stature because of its design and how she carries herself. Everyone accepts everything rather easily, which isn’t a surprise, and they’re all very curious abou tthe ship and her situation. With everyone having become friends over the course of time since she came there, their lives changing a good bit, they’re more than content in keeping her secret and figuring out what they can do to help her. And to assuage her fears about the Men in Black that don’t really exist. READ MORE...

Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #08 Anime Review

With some of the revelations that happened in the previous episode and the mild change sin relationships that have happened, the series enters a slightly different state as the kids are basically coping with it all at this point. With some awkwardness at that since feelings have changed and you don’t want it to be made too much of since not only could it hurt others, it could hurt themselves as well. Kanna seems to be the one making the most of the situation though as she’s trying very hard to be bright, outgoing and happy, but it just makes everyone else more concerned for her when you get down to it. Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #07 Anime Review

The "working" vacation has been pretty busy for the kids as they deal with the filming itself but it’s turning into a much more difficult situation because of the way everyone is slowly but surely revealing different kinds of feelings for each other or just causing more problems along the way. Of course, the main focus is on Kaito himself as there are a few girls that are directly interested in him and are approaching it differently in how they’re getting it across to him. And in the midst of all of this, it continues to feel like Remon is just manipulating the situation as a whole in small was to vastly amuse herself, which is what a large part of the whole movie production is. Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #06 Anime Review

With the previous episode of the series, we got some nice moments of teenage issues, especially towards the end, that focused on the awkward relationship status between several of the friends. It’s typical in that we have a girl interested in the lead, like Kanna being into Kaito, and she’s uncertain of how Ichika figures into things and how she can get around it to get what she wants. Of course, Kanna is oblivious to another friend who is quite interested in her and he gets close to saying it while she rambles on about her love for Kaito, which could easily be the same as Ishigaki since what she likes about him is almost the same thing. And he’s actually interested in her, though he feels like he can’t really say anything about it because of her interests in Kaito. And in the midst of all of this you have the completely oblivious Ichika who is trying to figure out how to get in better with Kaito. And you have Remon who just wants to mess with everyone. Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #05 Anime Review

As the series muddles along, it’s hitting that amusing point of self reference in a way where you wonder just how much certain parties know about the truth. With summer vacation having arrived, the gang is under Remon’s control now as she’s wrapped them up into her filming of a movie and she intends to right it for all its worth. While only Kaito and Ichika know the truth about what’s going on, Remon has designed a movie that revolves around an alien girl that has come to Earth and the young man that has fallen head over heels for her. Of course, there are differences, but putting Ichika into the role of the alien certainly is a bit blunt. It’d work better if they used someone else since they could play off of it more instead of going for the overly obvious route. READ MORE...

Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #04 Anime Review

With Kaito and Ichika having gotten closer in a way that kind of surprised and scared both of them, they’re now dealing with the fallout from it in the way that people of this age do, even if Ichika may not be from this world. Kaito tries to comfort himself by at least thinking he didn’t admit that he loved her while she tries to just remind herself to play it normal as she’s older than him and has to handle it properly. The two of them have a comical kind of tension between them at this point, made worse by actually living together, and it’s just a big part of how they’re both feeling throughout the day at this point. While others don’t know the specifics, it’s easy to tell that something is definitely off with both of them, but especially with Kaito as he wears his emotions and feelings on his sleeve more openly than Ichika does. Ano Natsu De Matteru Episode #03 Anime Review

With Kaito and Ichika having settled into a routine fairly well when it comes to each other, there’s things that crop up that just thrown a spanner in the works. The latest comes with some bad dreams that Kaito has and that causes him to try and put some distance between himself and Ichika. Which is something she can’t quite understand well, though she starts to panic over the way she thinks it comes back to the events of the night prior where she was a bit more forward with him and he may have taken it wrong. And he may want to end up turning her in for what she really is if he’s figured it out. Suffice to say, Ichika runs herself through a couple of minor panic attacks over the whole thing. READ MORE...
