The Legend of Korra is set in the Avatar universe as a spin-off of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The new series takes place seventy years after the end of the Avatar: The Last Airbender story arc with new characters and settings. The protagonist of the new series, Korra, the Avatar after Aang, is a hot-headed and rebellious young woman from the Southern Water Tribe who is ready to take on the world. The series follows Korra as she faces an Anti-bending Revolution while mastering the art of airbending from Aang and Katara's son, Tenzin.

I grew up watch the original Avatar, and I can honestly say I was incredible pleased with this show. The character development was simply amazing and it was great to see the growth of Korra while still paying homage to the original characters. I HIGHLY recommend it to all! Hopefully the writers (or netflix) will continue the universe. I would say the show is geared more towards adults/teens because the sociopolitical issues can be to complex for younger children but it really was a phenomenal show. They managed to hold onto the greatness of the original show but still grow with their original audience and create something more mature.
